I feel so OLD and a little bit sad that you are too young to recognize The Dukes of Hazard references!

2025-05-07 00:05:31 +0000 UTCYou are so right - the second Erica entered the scene, it was like Lana who? I wonder if they had intended for a proper love triangle right from the get-go, but didn't because it was obvious they'd never be able to sell Clark and Lana if Lois was a love interest from day one. The thing is, Lana is a lot more interesting when she's not with Clark, because she's such a damsel, it's really tiring. Her character is so much better when she's not with him, but doing her own thing. Let's be honest, did anyone miss her in this episode? Yeah, didn't think so. It's kind of funny to see Clark live out his teenage puppy love though, knowing greater things are waiting down the line.

2025-05-05 21:49:30 +0000 UTCThe car scenes with senator Jennings where a nod to Johnathan(John Schneider) and senator Jennings(Tom Wopat) famous rolls as Bo and Luke Duke in the Dukes of Hazzard series.

2025-05-05 20:07:56 +0000 UTCI love this episode. Seeing Lois and Clark together, and seeing Clark, Lois and Chloe all work together, having it be mostly in Metropolis, no Lana (I think when this episode first aired, I didn't even notice she wasn't in it. And at this point in the series, sorry to any Lana fans, it made me think about how she wasn't really needed anymore). The dynamics in the episode were great. It's great to see Lois step up to the detective in the beginning, and dance undercover and get into trouble and show why she will be a great reporter one day.

2025-05-04 21:25:55 +0000 UTCIn case you come back to look at these comments, Travis, most of the things with Jack Jennings character were Dukes of Hazard references. Both John Schneider (Jonathan) and Tom Wopat (Jack) were the main characters in Dukes together. So the car itself, the stories Jack was telling, and getting in the car through the window; all Dukes references.

2025-05-04 16:39:12 +0000 UTCFun fact: the actor who plays Senator Jennings (Tom Wopat) played Luke Duke alongside John Schneider who played Luke Duke in the tv show The Dukes of Hazzard. Also yeah, I agree with you 100%. I definitely like the vibes between Clark and Lois over him and Lana.
