POD 95: January patron Q&A
Added 2024-01-17 07:56:09 +0000 UTCIn this Q&A I discuss the recent Panara lemonade deaths, a newly available DXM freebase tablet, alpha-GPC, amphetamine-bupropion interactions, and coal tar. Enjoy!

Oh yeah. I know that company. Sketchy as fuck. It's better than the OTC DXM products, though. Over 300mg, and I just end up in blackout/hangover territory, with, like, one or two memorable hallucinations.

I've tried both plenty of times and personally noticed no difference. Also, interestingly - I have received bottles labeled freebase that actually contained HBr tablets. (makes me slightly wary of the company but I guess I shoudn't expect much from a company with such hilarious advertisements) I dosed them as if they were freebase and still felt similar effects... however I haven't taken more than 300mg of freebase or HBr at once. I don't intend to, either. Maybe there's more of a difference at higher doses.

2024-01-25 04:11:59 +0000 UTCYour response to the Paneraβs lemonade question makes a lot of sense. Initially, I was thinking that it was ridiculous that there was so much backlash on the drink causing a death. About a week before the incident I went to panera bread on a whim and saw the drink which was labeled with its caffeine content, albeit, in quite the fine print and placed off to the side. On second thought, it is bad practice that the company was not being explicit and clear about the high caffeine content and that consumers are unaware of the amount of caffeine that they are consuming. I hope that the families of those who died from drinking lemonade are shown some empathy by those who are handling the legal ramifications of this. No one should be accidentally dying from legal drug consumption. Normalize transparency bruh

2024-01-20 08:25:57 +0000 UTCThe other issue of labeling with the Panera charged lemonade is that it said on their website that the drink had "about the amount of caffeine in a cup of Panera coffee" that was an outright lie. As to something with more caffeine it would be redline. That stuff has a list of ingredients that amounts to a less healthy version of an amphetamine. And the name redline came from the fact that it had a red line on the can that you shouldn't drink more than up to that line in a single sitting.
