That would be me. Except that I’m not taller than you - I’m actually your size. - But all the rest is me. Especially the hair sniffing. I always love it when you do your own material, as I imagine it to be more personal. More you. - And I can’t get enough of that. You. And if I get the body of Adonis in that fantasy, that is fine with me. Loving the fantasy, but looking for the truth, as far as we can discern it. How deeply human. But what is the truth about life and the universe? There’s always initial conditions: the state of the universe and its boundary conditions, and then there is the laws of nature that evolve the original state into the future. We just don’t know yet what to make of it. Either I’m with Sean Carroll (http://www.preposterousuniverse.com), who prefers the Everettian “many worlds” interpretation of Quantum Mechanics - then everything possible happens in its own universe - and all we do our whole life long, is to find out, in which of the possible universes we happen to live. Or I’m with Sabine Hossenfelder (http://www.backreaction.blogspot.com) - and then there is only one universe, in which we either get Superdeterminism (“fate”) or random chance. Sadly there is no good proposal that would allow for free will in the strong sense - sorry Sir Roger Penrose: microtubulars using quantum-effects ain’t it - “free will” (in the weak sense) is obviously emerging many layers above the fundamental level. (There’s some nice Joscha Bach remarks about the absence of free will on the micro-level in one of his AI talks...) Well I guess in the end it does not matter all that much for me: although we all behave as if we had free will, as if we were the agents of our own fate, and all notions of responsibility and the coherence of human society depends on it, the thing I truly want is this: to surrender my will to you. Because it gives me peace. You give me peace. - But even with the peace of mind that you give, I still have needs: but thankfully meeting those is your other speciality^^ - I’ve clearly come to the right place... Thanks for all the thoughts of love and friendship you put in my head and my heart, for as much as I had thought I could do without: I can’t. - You are my refuge.
