In the episode where he offered one to LWZ and told him about it, the translated subtitles didn't say "my home town", instead it said "my family". So, yeah, translating is tricky, I guess🤷 Speaking of, the police chief and the guy Pei Su talks to should have different characters for their last names, if I'm not mistaken. On another note, there are so many things and little nods to the novel that isn't fully explained and won't make sense without having read it. Like, the book he's holding at the end there is the one the Janitor has been reading from on that radio program. Anyway, really looking forward to the next one!

And even knowing what's going to happen, the rooftop scene is still so stressful. Also I can't handle hights, so😅 Why and how the guy managed to get the mother to try to commit suicide is made more clear in the novel. Many things are simplified in the show (which it would have to be, or we'd need like 100+ episodes to cover the whole story), so there are some things that gets lost in the process. Still a great adaptation so far, though! Luo Weizhao never gets to smoke a single cigarette in this show, there's always someone or something getting in the way😂 Poor Pei Su getting hit with both "thank you" AND "sorry" in the same episode - guy's gonna need a break! Been hearing rumors we might be getting new episodes this week or next, so fingers crossed for that🙏 Loved your reaction as always!

He looks so naked without glasses, though! Like, fragile and vulnerable. Took a long time to realize exactly where I'd seen Zhang Donglan's actor before - exactly because he's so completely different in SCI Mystery. Sign of a good actor👌 Love Luo Weizhao being a badass. The stabbing had me SO shocked when I first watched it. Was like, wait WHAT?!? That bad guy boss at the club, we saw him in the first episode. He was the suspicious guy in the crowd by the crime scene that the older policeman was talking to. Highly recommend reading the novel. It's my absolute favorite danmei so far. It's just so, so good, haven't got the words to describe it😅 Can't wait for the next one!

That website does not agree with my pc at all, and it literally took me almost 3 hours to watch it... Anyway. To be fair, it sounds a lot more like forging an alibi in the novel, because Fei Du says something along the lines of a handbag each should cover the inconvenience of having to go to the police station to give statements... So Luo Weizhao's reaction in the scene in the show feels slightly off to me, but it's not really a problem. I agree: names are HARD. He Zongyi: murder victim Miao Xiaowei: the guy being interrogated in ep 1, he's the roommate of the murder victim. Frying Pan the cat was called Yiguo (a pot) in the novel, and there is even some parts in it from his POV😆 Guess that's were they got the name of the little dog in the flashbacks in Word of Honor from, since it wasn't at all in that novel. Fei Du/Pei Su is such an interesting character - one of my all time favorites, to be honest. At this point I'm completely obsessed with this show, and when I'm not rewatching episodes, I'm re-reading the novel or watching fanvids on youtube🙈 I mean, who needs a life anyway? Really looking forward to the next episode!

Other than that, it's a pretty faithful adaption so far! I'm already falling in love with the characters, especially Fei Du (Pei Su?? All the names have been changed from the book, and I'm STRUGGLING!😅). The subs doesn't seem that bad to me, most of the time at least. But then again I just started re-reading the book to see how closely the show follows it, so I already know what's going on anyway. "Cleaner" is the username of the person who requested the particular classic being read at the moment on the podcast/radio program Pei Su was listening to in the beginning. Car racing is the new flirting😆 Your confusion is legit: in the book both main characters is interested in and fight over Tao Ran/Tao Ze in the beginning, but he's very straight😂 Interesting how they actually managed to get the right vibe without saying it in the show. Pei Su is around 7-8 years younger than the other 2. He's 21-22. He looks very young in the flashback, but he's supposed to be like 15. The candies is the only thing left of the part where he got rejected. Okay, I'll shut up now, this is the longest comment I've ever left anywhere in my whole life!🙈 Seriously, I'm so excited about this show, I don't even know what to do with myself... Dunno2000 Versions with better subtitles have started being released. I could drop the link if you want? They're only at episode 4 right now though.
