[Nick | SB] Cover+001-003

Okay!

Update for Nick: My agent pitched "Nick" to my publisher in June/July (dtv, who publishes G&G). We didn't have the same vision for the story, and that's okay. They would have wanted to age Nick up to at least 15, make the plot around Derrick clearer, less Adrian, add a more healing ending. Which is a no go for me. I still like the story as it is. I partly understand where they are coming from - a story about abuse is difficult to market. You need a clear message, and address a clear audience. Nick isn't that. It's more of a character study, following Nick's feelings and actions in how he deals with things.

We didn't try pitching it to other publishers. We suspect that all of them would want to change something, and that's not an option for me.

TL;DR: "Nick" will be selfpublished.

So! I want to start working on the finished pages in October 2025 after I finished G&G chapter 13 (just 1 scene left!). I hope to be done in 3 months, around New Year's. Wish me luck!!

Since I now have clearance on how it will be published, I will share the storyboards with you over the course of the next couple of months!
2 storyboard pages every MO-FR for the $5-tier. 118 pages in total.

You'll get the first scene with dialogue as an appetizer.

I'd be happy if you followed along ♥

Happy ending: eh, depends on how you define a happy ending. It ends rather abruptly and some is kept open. I tried to extend it so that it's a more comforting one, but I couldn't bring myself to do it in a short way. :,(

This will be great! I'm happy that you can still tell this story even though it isn't "marketable". My favorite stories are often those that are complicated and challenging.
