Patreon Poll Illustration - Luna (Update!)

Hey everyone! I have something a bit left field to share, but I hope it is of interest to you.

For a while I had been mentioning the Luna project, and for quite some time nothing was coming to mind. Perhaps call it luck, but I finally figured out how to work part of my software that had been confounding me for ages; Animation!

Clip studio offers short animations, up to 24 frames on my plan, and after quite literal months on and off visiting the animations section and trying to make sense of it, I finally hunkered down and got something to work. Today, that culminated in a short looping animation of Luna, the second in line for the most recent Patreon Poll.

This is INCREDIBLY rudimentary, as this is quite literally my first attempt at animation ever. All the same, I felt a rather simple looping animation of this type would be....manageable? That's how I would put it. I haven't even done the iconic drop and roll ball practice animation, which is honestly something I probably should do now that I can get this thing to work properly.

As things stand, I cannot with 100% certainty say the final release will be an animation, but I will be doing everything I can to try and make it so. I would like to see if I can add some slight expression animation to this to give it a bit more life, and maybe double the frames to give a smoother animation to her movements.

All things considered, I'm actually incredibly excited to be doing this! This is new ground for me, and innovation is something I have been craving for a long time. Who knows, if I am able to really study animation and find some success, projects like these will most certainly become easier and may become more prevalent in my work.

I hope you are all as excited as I am! I will be drafting up the Aqua and Darkness duo picture tomorrow, followed by an announcement and polling period for the next Patron voted project. I will be pushing to have both this and the Aqua x Darkness images completed by the time the polling period wraps up. Holding my feet to the flame with some deadlines may be just what I need.
