Absolutely agree, he needs to put that phone away! The girls are doing a great job 👏

Yeah but Luke also misses half the dialogue so I doubt he'd be able to pick up any intricacies of the changing plot in any case. It is pretty dull at times though.

The first Khalasar was Khal Drogo’s not Dany’s. They left her as soon as Drogo died, except for a small group. She finally got her army when the unsullied chose to follow her as their leader. But at that time, the 8,000 unsullied was not enough to conquer Westeros. The North alone had over 20,000 soldiers, at least before the battle of Winterfell. So this second time around, the Dothraki are choosing to follow her as their leader which is different. Her army is now increasing and not to mention she now has adult dragons. You don’t get to have that amount of power over night, it takes time, patience and faith.

But then he corrected later and said "shes doing stuff but its stuff weve already seen before", which he is 100 percent right about, also something can make sense story wise and still be trash

Luke literally said "she's not doing anything," and that "she's not advancing." And, I disagree. Obviously, Dany needs to continue to add to the army that she already has. She's not going to occupy and rule three cities, and then conquer an entire continent with only 10,000 soldiers. So, the writers decided that she needs to acquire more men. And, at this particular part of the story, the writers chose a khalasar to be added to her force. Getting captured by a khalasar and being brought back to Vaes Dothrak as a slave, it understandably seems that Dany's just spinning her wheels and going nowhere. But if the writers decided for her to gain a khalasar then it seems to me there are only a handful of ways she could do that: 1) She could try to entice them to join her by bartering and trading. But, we know from season one that the Dothraki choose the time when they want to fulfill their end of the bargain. And, she wouldn't be willing to wait when they're ready. Plus, this route doesn't guarantee that Dothraki would cross an ocean, that they fear. And, they're a nomadic peoples, so they're not going to sit put and rule the cities she's conquered when she leaves for Westeros. 2) She could go to war with the Dothraki. That might have worked. They do follow strength. So, when she defeats them, she would probably gain warriors that would want to join her side. However, her army and Drogon would kill so many of them; would what's left of them numerically be worth the fight? 3) She could get captured; take advantage of her strengths and the Khals weaknesses; kill the Khals and not their soldiers; thus, leaving the khalasar intact (and not destroyed by waging all-out war). Could the writers have chosen another group of peoples/army to join Dany? I'm sure they could. I would've liked that choice. We could’ve met new peoples and characters. That would've been interesting and fun. Going that route would have allowed her to gain more warriors without possibly leaving some fans with the understandable feeling that she's not going anywhere; not doing anything; just repeating her storyline; or just spinning her wheels. Ultimately, the writers decided that the Dothraki should join Dany, at this point. And, I believe it makes more logical sense for her to acquire a devoted and intact khalasar to her side with minimal bloodshed, and without having to barter with a group of peoples that want to fulfill their obligations when they decide. With all of that being said, I don't believe that it's correct to say “she's not doing anything” or “she's not advancing.” She certainly is doing something. She's learning how to rule, and she's amassing a large military force.

What hes saying is yes shes doing something but shes repeating shit, which is exactly why i always toned out on my first watch of game of thrones, at around season 5 I became incredibly bored of Daenrys, its the same shit over and over , and then some of the stuff she does in the next season made me hate her as a character, She finds herself in a disadvantages position "I am a breaker of chains , the breaker of the wheel blah blah blah blah" shows her dragons, and then receives a huge army, repeat 4 times throughout the course of 6 seasons

Can’t wait for 7-10.

I understand what Luke is saying about Dany's current storyline, and how it seems to not be advancing her position. But I would argue, that this current storyline is advancing her goals. A force of 8,000 Unsullied and 2,000 Second Sons is a large army, but it's not large enough to shore up the cities she's already conquered as well as taking over an entire continent (Westeros). The writers put Dany in a position where she could acquire a large horde of Dothraki, to be added to her army of Unsullied and Second Sons. If you recall from season one, the Dothraki follow strength. So, when Dany killed the khals and stepped out of the burning Temple of Dosh Khaleen, unburnt, she acquired a khalasar through strength. Yes; that khalasar is now following Dany, but as far as we know, they are not committed to crossing what they call “poison water.” Therefore, she has to persuade her new khalasar to fulfill Khal Drogo's promise to cross the “poison water" and help her conquer Westeros. So, she ups the ante of showing strength to her new khalasar by reminding them of Khal Drogo’s promise on the back of a large dragon (that they've never seen). She not only has a khalasar, but now she has their commitment to cross the “poison water” and help her conquer Westeros. I would argue that Dany acquiring a committed khalasar to go along with her army of Unsullied and the Second Sons does advance her position.
