Someone broke my no sharing rule!

I have to say I'm really disappointed . I had one rule and someone decided to break it. But I had only one rule and it was broken. I stated if any of my models where shared I would quit and no more models would be shared. But with all the support I have received from my patrons and those who have decided to commission me I can't really quit now. But I am going to have to change some things now. For now all my models have been taken down for the time being. Don't worry they will be back up. But I am going to have to add more security. So I am going to have to create a Discord server for extra security other vam creators do this I didn't want to do it. But now I have to. I am going to have to think about how future models will be done now. I'm just really disappointed one rule just one and it was broken. So I am going to think about how to change some things and my models will be back up in a couple of days. No worries to those who commissioned models those are still on the way and will be done.

Someone broke my no sharing rule! Someone broke my no sharing rule!

You do have some good points. But here is the thing as solo artists we work our butts off to make our content so being supported for it really makes a world difference for us. Big companies can afford piracy because they make millions. ALL my content becomes free eventually. So the only people supporting me are the ones who want to and can. If simply changing to discord and changing passwords help me even a little I will do it because the ones who have been supporting me since the beginning will be okay with it. Pirates don't care plain and simple so if they see Discords and passwords they give up easily and move on. The alternative is I STOP completely and share no more models. Only reason I share my models in the first place is because I want some extra money to help support me in life. The one who leaked my content supported me for only a month and left without a care in the world. While those who have stuck around actually already follow other Vam creators. As soon as I created the discord all their accounts joined automatically this tells me they want to support creators they like. If you don't want to use Discord then I'm sorry feel free to no longer support me. You can just wait a few months and get all my models for free anyways. So here no one loses except the leakers who don't really care in the first place. For those who continue to support me they can get all my content first and decide what models for me to continue doing in the future.

Here is the thing, you as a solo artist have no chance to stop people pirating, when multi-billion companies who make games, movies etc... cant stop it. People motivations to get stuff for free is just too strong. I advise you not to make it harder to for pirates to leak your stuff, because the consequences is that you make yours paying customers experience way worse. Why should we suffer for that? There are so many Vam creators who have this horrible tactic to prevent piracy, like have single link and password for all assets, some even have different password for every Zip file, and one of the worst tactic is when you have to ask for link every now and then. Its so tedious and painful to download the assets that way. That makes me just understand why people pirate. This is quotes from Gabe Newell "Gabe Newell, believes that piracy is primarily a service problem, not a pricing problem. He argues that pirates often provide better services than legitimate providers" "The best way to combat piracy is to provide customers with a superior service than what they can get from pirates. This includes things like making products readily available, globally accessible, and easy to purchase" "DRM can restrict customer use and negatively impact the value of a product. He believes that DRM can create uncertainty and make it difficult for customers to access and enjoy a product"
