Sound check
Added 2024-12-23 23:35:04 +0000 UTCHey folks! I’ve been using a different mixing process for the last few releases and you might have noticed that my voice sounds a little different. Let me know what you think! More detail in the comments is welcome.
Thanks, and happy holidays 💖

I second Magpie - when I use a better headphone to listen to the new voice, the bass is constantly too strong. While if I use a shittier earphone, the voice sounds clearer to me. The older set-up, with Gale's audio as an example, works on both set-ups for me and makes your voice sound younger and lighter for some reason if that makes sense :)

2025-01-14 08:36:16 +0000 UTCto me, new sound is noticeable - your voice is a lot clearer and stronger, free from interference. but since your voice is quite deep, the bass can come on a bit too strong? but its a nitpicky issue- if there was a way to soften that, it'd be 110% yknow!

2024-12-27 04:28:26 +0000 UTCI haven't notice a difference myself. I always enjoy your voice regardless!

2024-12-27 03:14:02 +0000 UTCI like both, but I do kinda lean toward the older one as well for the reasons you described, as well as maybe familiarity. I could tell something wasn't the same, but I figured it was maybe just intentional difference in vocal delivery. Tbh I don't feel knowledgeable enough about audio processes to have a strong opinion about this. Different mixes based on feel would be cool, but likely too much hassle.

2024-12-24 06:56:48 +0000 UTCI hadn't really noticed MUCH difference in the sound, but I did notice the richer environmental effects and that's been a lot of fun. I figured any difference in the vocal mix was catering to the setting of the script.

2024-12-24 03:57:13 +0000 UTCI might be the only one who likes the previous setup. It feels so warm and soothing. Any chance to alternate the mixes depending on the content...that's probably a lot of work.

2024-12-24 03:00:11 +0000 UTCI loved the sound before and I love it now. Well done!

2024-12-24 01:50:06 +0000 UTCI'm not tech savvy nor do I know proper audio terms etc. but I do notice a difference. I'm curious how characters like Jasper would sound now with the new setup. It sounds more... upfront? And less... reverby? I'm making zero sense!

2024-12-24 01:27:56 +0000 UTCI really love the new sound! It sounds more crisper and smoother at the same time if that makes sense. While the old sound was great as well, you can hear the recording equipment is rather more “professional” and the sound a higher quality. Great stuff!

2024-12-24 00:50:37 +0000 UTCThe new set up is so much smoother, it's much easier to pick up the nuance in your voice when you're coveyjng complex or subtle emotions. Overall, it's made the whole listening experience far richer, it's now a lot clearer to pick up on details I would have missed before like slight tonal shifts, alterations in your timbre and in general it makes the SFX so much more realistic and immersive so big thumbs up from me, it's made your wonderful creations even better! 🥳

2024-12-24 00:41:00 +0000 UTCI love the new sound/studio set up Phas! You are so incredibly talented, the audio was fine before the new setup and now it's just even more amplified and ....surreal in the best way! I hope that makes sense! 💕✨ Everything sounds clear crisp and 🫦🥵
