Gender Binarism, Heteronormality, & Audio Roleplays [non-roleplay ramble]

Patrons, hello! This video may become non-exclusive in the near future - right now it's unlisted, because I want a few opinions on it first. I'll also be sharing this with everybody in my Discord server.

This is a long ramble about the gender binary, heteronormality, and how these things are represented in and interact with audio roleplays of the kind I make. This is an issue important to me, and that's been on my mind a lot. I'd really love to hear your thoughts, once you've listened to the ramble.

Alternatively, just use it as a sleep aid. That's fine too.

Love you,
Phas

As someone whose had experience with the sex work side of creating audios - you're already going above and beyond what I've seen in terms of inclusivity, and you should applaud yourself for that. The fact that it's so important to you, I have nothing but respect for you in that regard 🖤

I just found your channel, and I've been diving into your work. Your writing and your collaborations are utterly delightful. I'm a creative writer, and someone who is nonbinary, so this ramble really hits in a really strong way. In your most recent post, you set up 7 different "gender/body type" options, and you are the first creator I've ever experienced who has consistently focused on this in your work (I know there are others, but you are definitely the first for me). And it makes me feel so much safer as an audience member, and so much more delighted and interested in engaging with your writing! Thank you, for still continuing to explore this and put in the immense effort, intention, and creativity I know it takes to create the works of this sort that you do 💙

How you feel about your work is really the most important. As you continue to genuinely pour your heart and your time into creating inclusive content, the people and patrons who appreciate that kind of thing will gravitate to you for it. I loved this ramble though. Delightful to hear your thoughts, and you've a very soothing voice. Thanks Phas.

You bring up so many great points here, and it's nice to see a creator actively discussing this. The explicit side of this absolutely is "sex work"- your scripts are erotica and your performance of them is audio porn- we just don't tend to refer to them that way. As far as discussing the body goes, I've seen a few different approaches. You mentioned doing doubles would be too much work- but there are some people who record duplicate bits just around references to genitals and double release them as M4F and M4TF/M4M. More commonly I've noticed people using terms that apply to everyone regardless- like.. nipples over breasts - bc Everyone has nipples, and the slightly rude.. hole.. or the more vague... inside- allowing the listener to personalize where inside happens to be. This whole situation is probably why there are a lot of BJ scenarios- bc again.. everyone has a mouth. Continuing in that vague train though.. there's a lot you can get away with through phrasing like.. taste you or touch you.. In the end though.. what you want to write is entirely up to you. I would say though, that thorough tagging is the most helpful whatever your decide. So if you go the route of actually describing things you are doing to a vulva.. then you need to tag the audio accordingly (cunni, fingering, etc.) and that will provide the expectation that there will be discussion of these body parts. I'm certainly interested to see what you come up with after hearing all of this.
