Weekly Status Report: 2025/11/02 to 11/08
Added 2025-11-09 17:30:00 +0000 UTCIt was a long road getting here, but I'm finally at the home stretch for putting in footage and images. How much further is it? About 12 minutes and 45 seconds, and a LOT of it is still images like screenshots. I am done up through the start of discussing the Perfect Origin Arc anime.
Yesterday I had to redo a section of the fan translation section as I had PAINFULLY wrong info about one fansub group. It was only about a minute worth of the video, but I'd rather correct it now than put it out and have it be completely wrong (y'all would cook me in the comments, too, lol).
So what's the roadmap to the finish line? Here's what's left:
Finishing the last ~12 minutes and 45 seconds of footage and images
Going back and adding a few things I missed (like the FoxBox promo package from Toys 'R Us, shouldn't be more than like five minutes of stuff?)
Adding images and videos I missed (I just marked the section and moved on, so hopefully it's as simple and slotting them in 🤞)
Adding animations and text
Balancing narration volume
Adding and balancing music
Capturing some miscellaneous game footage I missed (some things in the GBA and GameCube games; PS2 game is fine)
Adding credits (my longest credits sequence yet; if you thought PaRappa's was long, just you wait 💀)
Finishing the next episode preview (pretty far along, and I'm very happy with how it looks and sounds)
Finalising thumbnails and titles for A/B testing (have had ideas for months)
It feels weird being so close to the finish line... The goal is Friday, November 21st. It's ahead of the American Thanksgiving holiday week and just in time for boosted ad rev in December. I COULD wait until December 1st or 5th, but I'd rather not keep you all waiting even longer for a few extra dollars. I was going to stream on that day, but given I'll likely be a ball of nerves the day I upload the video, I don't think I could put on a good stream... I'll stream Kirby Air Riders next month.
