In 2019, I visited Alaska for the first time. It was the dead of winter, and the resort I was staying at was south of Anchorage on HWY 1.
Driving HWY 1 in the winter lit a spark in me I didn't know existed.
The sea level to 3,000 foot inclines, the frozen ocean, the iceburgs floating in the water, the mountain peaks blending with the sky.
It sincerely moved me in a way that made me promise that I would come back, specifically in winter.
Funny thing is, the only time I've ever been to Alaska is in the winter! I absolutely love it. It's wild, unpredictable, harsh, beautiful....it's captured my heart.
Coming back to Alaska and photographing this place in the world was a 5 year wish come true.
