December 12 Update
Added 2021-12-12 17:37:47 +0000 UTCEvents ganged up on me this week. -_- I'm not going to pretend that every single hour was absorbed by unavoidable events, but they ate up way more of my week than normal. Look at all my distractions:
- The first audiobook for TWC came out! This involved some rushed work with final pickups and jumping through publisher hoops, but it looks like we scraped in before the deadline, so Audible released it before the holiday rush. My reward... getting to do a bunch of promotion this weekend. I'm afraid that audiobooks are one of the only things I legally can't provide to all patrons, but you're as eligible for the random free copies as anyone else. If you're already a heavy Audible user, I might be able to give you a reviewer copy.
- $10 patrons got a new set of finished scene art.
- The plumbing company finally got to me, so I had plumbers around for three entire days. Fortunately, they've finished the work and my house should be much better prepared for this winter than the last one.
- A medical appointment ended up taking hours longer than it was supposed to. Fortunately, all results are back and I still have a clean bill of health.
- Trying to go to a book club, only to find that the organizers were a complete mess and I'd wasted my time. I don't have a high appetite for social stuff, but I always try to attend things that actually look interesting, so it sucks that this one was a wash. I will never leave the house again.
- Shuffling around disgruntled due to weird sales numbers, trivial incidents, and frankly just because that's my personality.
- There was good stuff too! A patron used the $50 tier to suggest a new feature for the player base. I thought their idea was pretty cute, and it inspired some creative work, so that led to some planning with Annikath. But though I think you guys will really enjoy this feature, it's not work on the upcoming update, so it is a distraction.
- Writing this whole post instead of a short one.
Now, this stuff doesn't make it impossible to get work done. I did manage some. But I'm not as far along as I wanted to be on the TLS update and it rankles.

2021-12-26 20:27:02 +0000 UTCSo, SL, good news and bad news. Bad news: We've got another bug report implicating the party shift mechanic from the Ordeal of the Claw dungeon in Zirantia. This time someone was using a PS4 controller, and either the Steam support for them wasn't all it's cracked up to be or the controller was miscalibrated/getting faulty, but what happening was that the "R" button was constantly being pressed. In the public build of 0.58.3, this caused the game to try and switch from Yarra's party to Simon's the instant the map loaded, crashing the script and the game. The player was able to work around the bug by mapping the "R" button to a different control, but it's another manifestation of the bugs thisgamething reported a few months back. Good News: I've implemented a fix for the game code to quash all of these bugs. (Except the infinitely pressing "R" button, assuming it isn't the bug reporter's controller.) I've pinged thisgamething to have him beta test the modifications and I guess I could ask Decanter to look it over to make sure I haven't done anything incredibly stupid. The best way to get it to you is probably going to be to upload the *.rvdata2 files corresponding to the maps for the Ordeal of the Claw dungeon and the Incubus Castle to Mediafire and Patreon PM you the links once it's been tested. I can include an explanation of what I changed and why in the PM. It might also be a good idea to check to see how many other players have been using a PS4 controller on Steam to play TLS. (Although figuring out how to get the f***ing thing to support that kind of controller if it is a problem with RPG Maker/TLS and not this one guy's controller being broken is not something I'd have put on my Christmas list.)

Combined with a failed book club that was supposed to be fun and people having to *be in your house* for *three days* to do work, I'd want to go full hermit too! Still, I'm glad you're healthy and that you should hopefully be safe and comfortable for the winter. I am very intrigued about what that feature suggestion could have been that necessitated coordinating with Annikath!
