This one is messy, partially by choice. I've learned that patrons are good at analyzing the equations or reminding me of details, but fundamentally shaping the update needs to happen on my end or it won't happen. So when I had the choice between taking a few hours to polish things up or to add a new complexity, I went with the latter. The result was very likely snowballing oversights, but I believe it will lead to the best final update.
I threw out all normal procedures for testing, because I'm too exhausted to take a week for it. What I tried to do was target problems with the highest rate of return: I focused on issues that would be the most problematic, but shifted away from the most time-consuming testing (like doing complete runs at the end of work). So there's a chance that a whole series of well-tested sequences are broken because I missed a map transition or something. And double checking the illustrations? Forget it.
There are some known trivial issues, such as some garbage-looking tiles or special effects occasionally being on the wrong layer. Some I know how to deal with and they're just unpleasant and/or time-consuming. Others I'm a bit puzzled by, but they're harmless, so I focused on the core content.
If you prefer playing polished updates once, I definitely suggest waiting. I'll also take an unusual step and ask something else: if you don't have any sense for how these updates work, please wait. If a leftover testing NPC is going to confuse you and make you feel the update is broken, we would both have a better time waiting until a polished build.
For those playing: this update branches in lots of ways, which is both blessing and curse. So many variants means that it's more likely that certain combinations lead to a dead end (or simply don't flow properly). Fortunately, you should also be able to keep playing on a different branch, if it takes me a while to get out a hotfix. When reporting bugs, please be clear about the exact circumstances.
I hope this update is in okay shape and that everyone has a good time with it. If there are a lot of issues, please be constructive.
