February 24 Update

The good news: Lots of new people are playing TLS! According to the metrics, a ton of hours are being poured into the game on Steam, and a decent number of people seem to be finding the game for the first time. If that's you, hello! ^-^

The less good news: There are more questions and comments, I needed to deal with Valve to get the game classified as Early Access, and my time is otherwise getting eaten up more than normal.

The bad news: The game's number of reviews got frozen somehow, possibly due to the EA problem. D= I'll have to talk to Valve again next week.

The future news: The Once Ever After release is happening next weekend, probably for $10 backers first. I'm committing to that date - it's been put off for too long by other releases and I really want to show everyone. Please look forward to many more hours of RPG gameplay than a normal update!

Comments

1) It may have been eaten by the Patreon spam filter, which is not very helpful. 2) A shift is a type of woman's undergarment, though apparently this is a far less common word than I believed.

Sierra Lee

Not sure what happened to my earlier comment on another post, as it appears like it didn't show up or disappeared, but I wanted to say that in the 2nd scene with Sarai there are about 3 instances where it says "shift" when it's pretty apparent that it should be "shirt".

Jared

Thank you very much! I'm glad you enjoyed the new content and I look forward to creating more. ^-^

Sierra Lee

So recently got back to the game, and went from just murder major asshole to the current content. What a year of content, and i jammed it all in my head in a week. You are awesome! and i will keep backing you! keep it coming!!!

Some Idiot

Many of these are the result of players reporting them, but yes, I do try to make improvements to previous sections from time to time. Even if my focus is on the newest content, the final goal is the complete game, after all.

Sierra Lee

So, i am currently replaying the game on steam and i noticed a few consistency improvements here and there, like sprites for slimes in Devil's Pass are now orange to match their battle sprites, and i am not quite sure what other little touch ups were added, but it's kinda nice. Also Janine's speech at the end of Chapter 1 is probably one of my favourite things in the game.

Seil

Yeah, Valve got back to me faster than expected. To my surprise, they said that they've had other reports of this, so it might not be the Early Access thing. It seems to strike randomly, but can be fixed by republishing the main page.

Sierra Lee

Review count issue seems to be fixed - game is now "Very Positive" on Steam.

Decanter

Word. You haz loyal fanbase. We'd be happy to help.

Dubsington

In regards of "less good news" - maybe its a good time to delegate? I am sure you'll be able to recruit half a dozen of trustees who know the game, responsible enough to represent you on those forums thus freeing up for time for more important tasks. I am sure that they will flag and bring to your attention anything important. As the community will grow, you'll have to do this eventually anyway, so why not start now?

Dark Art

Glad to have you with us! Thanks for your support, and I hope you keep enjoying my work. ^-^

Sierra Lee

That's the plan, anyway.

Sierra Lee

I am so glad to hear that TLS is doing great on Steam and more people are discovering the game.A friend told me about it a couple of days ago and I am hooked ever since.Hope the problem with the reviews gets fixed soon.I cannot wait for the release of Once Ever After!

Amethyst

Can't wait for Once Ever After!

Glad to hear of your success! Quick question, how are you planning to push updates to steam in the future? Same pace as public?

Trevor

Sorry, meant the Early Access problem. Thanks to everyone's support, I am hopefully immune to Electronic Arts problems, haha.

Sierra Lee

Looking forward to Once Ever After!

Sower of Systems
