February 10 Update

Lately I've been feeling like there's just so much stuff ready for you guys to see, but I want to release it at a reasonable rate instead of sending it out in a barrage. It feels uncomfortable to be holding back so much prepared content, but I guess I did just put out a public release two days ago, so I'll try to give myself a break.

Expect long-promised things soon, though! The Steam release will happen when next seems reasonable - perhaps next weekend? You can also expect the fully playable build of 60% of Once Ever After soon, perhaps later that weekend unless the Steam release swamps me.

One thing that might happen even sooner than that is the launch of my serialized story. I've still got some editing to do, but it's close. The picture above this post is a promotional image for it, what do you guys think? I'm trying some new artists, and this guy has the rare combination of being fast, reasonably priced, and a good communicator.

Anyway, you'll hear from me again before the next weekly update. Now, back to work!

February 10 Update

The plan is to have him start with a set of six characters for the serialized story, which I hope will serve well enough for that project but also give a sense for his work. Or you can see his ArtStation here: https://www.artstation.com/artforramen

Sierra Lee

I'd like to see a bust from this artist at a closer resolution and detail before I offer him my full endorsement, or perhaps browse the rest of his portfolio to see his range as an artist.

Quiet Stranger

Yeah, lots of artists who are overall skilled can't do faces well, particularly expressions. Most likely he'll get me some female characters soon, so fingers crossed!

Sierra Lee

That's the final draft, but it's also what I paid for - he was advertising rough colors, not fully rendered pieces. Since I actually felt his full renders weren't as impressive, I was fine with this, since it's basically concept art for another product, not itself the final product.

Sierra Lee

Biggest issue for me is usually faces, or else bodies being "proportional". Looks okay so far, female figures will be telling though.

Secular Reason

Art looks promising to me. It's a bit messy with some of the linework, colors outside lines, etc but I assume this isn't the final draft.

Decanter

There's no hint of it on any of his art portfolios. I haven't gotten any pictures of female characters yet, but if those are good and people generally like his art, I will consider working more with him in the future.

Sierra Lee

Thanks! It's something a little different, so I hope people like it!

Sierra Lee

I would ask the question if he works dirty, i.e. does erotic art, cause that just might fit TLS.

Zaiaku

I like the art, and being good to work with is always a plus. Looking forward to checking out the serial.
