Crimson Gray 1.5 Title: Round 2
Added 2018-07-01 19:54:25 +0000 UTCEDIT: Poll is closed, as a decision is made.
Well, I'd hoped that voting would go quickly and we'd get a title everybody liked, but that was not to be. T-T I took everyone's suggestions to heart and came up with a second round of potential titles. I am relatively confident that one of these will work, unless some of these get a lot of unexpected negative reactions.
(By the way, the reason I want to get this done is because I have been informed that I am doing my Steam releases poorly. I've preferred to put up a page late in the process, for a polished page and a quick release, but it seems you want to do the opposite: put up a page many months in advance and flog it everywhere. Lessons learned, I suppose.)
Reminder: All of these would be a subtitle, as in "Crimson Gray: Subtitle Here."
As an added thing to give feedback on, or perhaps just to give you guidance regarding the subtitle, here is my intended description for the page.

Short Description:
A slice of life visual novel with the emphasis on the slicing. Play as a mentally unstable young woman with blood on her hands trying to adapt to a normal life.
Long Description:
Lizzie has it all: a large collection of knives, a loving boyfriend, and an intense desire to murder. She's escaped the conspiracy that forced her to kill in self-defense, but now she needs to adjust to normal college life.
All she wants is to act like a normal couple, graduate from university, and get married. But a committed relationship isn't enough to stabilize her, and she finds herself spending a lot of time with her knives.
This visual novels plunges you into the mind of a deeply unstable young woman, viewed entirely from her skewed perspective. Your task is to find a way for her to be a normal student, a supportive partner, and not a serial killer. This is a short visual novel with an emphasis on unreliable narration and subtle consequences of the player's actions.

Okay, I've closed the poll, because I made my decision and moved things forward. I didn't choose the most voted option, but I did find the discussion of everything very useful, so I'm glad that everyone participated!

2018-07-02 23:35:35 +0000 UTCI think I have a solution everyone will agree with, why not call it "Crimson Grey 1.5, Rose-Colored Blood, Blood-Colored Lenses, Eyes of Red, Shades of Dawn Rose Dawn, Blood Tinted Lenses, Dusk and Dawn, Uncertain Perspective, Hints of Dawn, Electric boogaloo...The Reckoning."

2018-07-02 23:17:50 +0000 UTCI don't think you need to put up a steam page early, it just needs to be up 1-2 months prior to release. Don't put it up months in advance necessarily, at least not without a known release date. Also from the other group I back, they are having steam approval problems (more than 1 month) for R rated games despite it being a serious game and Valve saying they support all games that are not illegal right now, so that's something for you to consider. Also for some reason when they put up their pre-release steam page it showed up as recently released on steam, so they got a bunch of flak on the steam forums about that.

2018-07-02 04:42:51 +0000 UTCA brief flash of inspiration has struck! How about "Sanguine Perspective" ? Sanguine coming from both optimism and blood. Or "Sanguine Days" or "Sanguine Dawn" My inspiration was "Sanguine" is what I'm going for... Could even go with "Ex-Sanguine Days" : v

2018-07-02 04:13:17 +0000 UTC"Rose Dawn" is the most prosaic, but I don't think Ed Sheeran fans are the crowd you're going to make money off of. I think the word "blood" in the title in almost any capacity gives the game a cheap horror feel, which is not the case; assuming it's like the original, it's sophisticated and full of feels. Of the titles on that list, I least dislike "Uncertain Perspective". It gives me an idea of what it is: A game from an unusual perspective. Your unusual twists on perspective are a big part of what makes Sierra Lee games special, so I'd emphasize that.

2018-07-02 00:38:28 +0000 UTCIn other news, I'm replaying from the border crisis because I've changed my mind on whether 'tis better to let Aram burn in the 3rd Arclent War or not. And I've bumped into a ludo-narrative dissonance issue in the fight with the Incubus Emperor. In the boss fight, you can neutralize a lot of his offensive capabilities with a Fire Charm. So why didn't Simon take one with him to Stineford? Why didn't Ginasta have one? Why didn't the free peoples of Arclent finish him off in the 2nd Arclent War with a platoon or company of high level Unpeople wearing fire charms? We know they're too f'ing expensive for the party, but that limitation doesn't apply to a state. I guess the simplest explanation is we fight him when most of his offensive capabilities have been nerfed, but still...

2018-07-01 23:19:03 +0000 UTCI think I like Rose Dawn the most, but I think variations on it sound better: Rosy Dawn or Dawning Rose. I like the latter in principle though it might not fit the story perfectly.
2018-07-01 23:15:08 +0000 UTCI love blood tainted lenses but since everyone one is throwing in suggestions I thought, eh why not. Crimson Grey: Unstable blade

2018-07-01 22:27:00 +0000 UTCI agree with you on the title. First of all, because it reflects the game well judging from the test-build.

2018-07-01 21:30:58 +0000 UTCCrimson Grey: Mental Studies; Crimson Grey: College's Knife
Edward Culham
2018-07-01 21:29:36 +0000 UTCGiven that both of these people are meant to be mentally unstable; kind of need a way to convey that. These titles I feel do not do that.

2018-07-01 21:26:55 +0000 UTCSome people made the point that they don't like "blood" being in the title explicitly, so "Red-Tinted Lenses" might be a variation worth considering. As for the description, I would reverse the positioning of "a large collection of knives, a loving boyfriend" so that the list items go from least to most "wait what."

2018-07-01 21:18:37 +0000 UTCI like Blood Tinted Lenses this time around, possibly because I associate glasses with studying and college.

2018-07-01 21:13:24 +0000 UTC...And now all I'm thinking is a play on the words "Read" and "Red", somehow.

2018-07-01 21:02:18 +0000 UTCThat one could just as easily use "or," true! I used "and" because I was thinking her life contains some of both, but "or" is a valid option too. Tweaks are fine for all of the options, of course, just comment!

2018-07-01 20:59:21 +0000 UTCI like the inclusion of a word that envokes a timeframe like "dawn". Problem is that "dawn" implies a beginning and they're in the middle of their relationship. Maybe I'm looking into it too much. For my money I'd go with rose dawn to keep the color motif.

2018-07-01 20:58:16 +0000 UTCCan't say why, but after reading the summary "Rose Dawn" immediately sounded fitting without being too descriptive and a variation of deep meaning.

2018-07-01 20:29:44 +0000 UTCI like "Dusk and Dawn" a lot but, from the description, it sounds like "Dusk or Dawn" would be more apt, since it's Lizzie struggling with which one of the two paths in her life she should go down.
