Okay, finally time to introduce the stress relief project! Over the past while, there have been some moments when I felt I really needed a change of pace. I love the kind of content I make, but occasionally I want to try something different.
So this project is truly different, my attempt to make a light simple game (honestly). I hope to expand and finish this someday, but it'll never be a saga or huge project: I'm aiming for the type of game you play on a Flash/HTML5 site, or on a phone. I actually enjoy simple games that do a great job executing a mechanic - they fill a different appetite than long and complex games.
But I doubt I'll interest people here by rambling about abstractions, so without further ado, let me introduce the story of this game. The art sadly is a long way from complete, but enough is finished for me to give you a sneak preview of the intro scene the game will start with:

So yeah, that's the concept! The story is directly tied to the central mechanic of the game: an anti-runner. My goal was to design the opposite of your usual endless runner game in which you control the obstacles and try to stop the running character. The full version will include various levels, upgrades, and other elements of casual games.
Now, I won't completely be able to resist adding some more writing. My plan is that the levels will be on a world map, and every so many levels, you'll unlock something. Some of the unlocks will be conversations between characters, which will continue the goofy premise. But at the end of a world, you'll unlock a new sex scene.
Anyway, please do give me your thoughts! I'll understand if people are less interested, since this is different from what I usually do. It has been an enjoyable diversion, though, and a nice change of pace.
At some point I will need alpha testers to try to refine the basic gameplay loop... but not yet. The game needs more work, and right now I'm just not putting in much time on it, as I have higher priorities. In fact, now that this post is going up, it is officially going on the backburner.
Do express your interest if you have experience with this type of game, though! For everyone else, hope you got some amusement out of it. Look forward to this one... eventually.
