September 10 Update
Added 2017-09-10 21:46:39 +0000 UTCAs I spoke about briefly last update, I'll be changing gears for a while. I did this after I finished the second chapter and I think it worked well (both for me personally and in producing Ouroboros) so I would like to do it again. In this post, I'll be talking about the things I'll be doing to change gears.
1) TLS Planning
Though I've had the whole game planned from the beginning, like I said last time, I left certain parts of the plan looser so that they could accommodate new ideas. Certain parts of the game, especially the core plot points, are crystal clear in my mind, but there are also aspects that I feel could be better structured.
So one thing I'll be doing over my break is refining these plans. Yes, I could just plunge forward without a period devoted to planning, but for TLS I want to give it my absolute best! That means taking some time to reflect on everything.
2) Desecration of Wings
This is a side project that $10 backers have seen, but I'll be showing the preview to everyone soon. DoW is a game that has been on the back burner for a long time, since I've always put it as lower priority than my main projects. It has some serious issues with the art, but I plan to finish the story/gameplay during this break. So you guys should be getting at least five new hours of content this month!
3) Side Project #3
The last of my old projects. I'm not sure how much time I'll devote to it this break, since I worry that it might end up feeling like an obligation. But you can expect a preview of this game at some point during the break, since there's some nice art completed!
4) Personal Project
There's something that I've been working on that I really want to sink some time into. I don't know when this project will appear in completed form, but it will make me happy to work on it and I think it's a fun idea. Something different from everything I've done so far; you'll see it eventually. ^-^
5) Non-Creative Stuff
There have been a lot of things I've been putting off in order to devote more time to making content. Figuring out the Crimson Gray upload, for example. Or... GameJolt is a thing, I don't have any of my games there yet. I also want to devote some of my time to improving my skills and testing out systems that I think might be useful for future games. Less enjoyably, I will try to do some promotion of my stuff. -_-
6) Following Inspiration?
This break is already filled with stuff, but I hope that I have a chance to just indulge myself with a new idea. If I make something like this, you guys will definitely get a chance to play it and let me know what you think!
So yeah, that's the situation - I'll be saying more in the coming weekly updates as I finish things. And of course, it's important for me to change gears sometimes to keep giving 100% to a project like this. I don't want to delay work on TLS too much, but I hope everyone will like the content I'll be able to finish up over the break.

2017-09-12 22:16:09 +0000 UTCWhatever keeps your creative juices flowing Sierra feel free to do as I would prefer high quality content+longer wait over rushed content+short wait+stressed creator :) Also while people wait for the update please let me suggest another project which has some similarities to TLS Renryuu Ascension by Naughty Netherpunch. Not as many hidden variables so far but has a mature main character with a nice supporting cast and an interesting strategy game built in. Game is fully free even if you arent a Patron so give it a try :P

2017-09-11 03:04:59 +0000 UTCIt's the difference between knowing what I want to happen and knowing exactly how I want it to happen. For example, there's one political event that I originally wanted to happen early in chapter four that I realize I want to include a subplot that will require more time to develop, so I've shifted the plot so it occurs later. Or I've replaced an original idea with one that I think is better, but it requires shifting the plot so everything stays consistent. That's what I mean, anyway!

2017-09-11 01:21:51 +0000 UTCLike yarra say "you will only stop doing work to do other type of work" :p, but really tough take a breather, is nice to let the inspiration flow, as for the TLS planing, not sure what you have in mind but i guess is add more meat to the over all current plot, once the main idea is fix the rest is add more either future or to previous chapters, a solid fundation is there already, as for all your other stuff, ill be fun to see regardless of what it is.

I haven't been saying an exact time, because I don't want to feel like I have a strict deadline if I'm finishing up something at the end. But I don't intend to take much more than a month. 2017-09-10 23:06:23 +0000 UTCAny guidance on the duration of the break between TLS updates? FWIW, I'm fine with two or three months or more, because I need to get some other stuff done (like finding a new job), and my TLS addiction might complicate that.
