June 26 Update
Added 2016-06-26 15:22:07 +0000 UTCThis was a bad week for me, but unlike previous updates, this week's is about triumph over adversity! I have gone deep into 0.19.0 and though I can't predict when it will be done yet, I'm happy with my progress so far!
One bit of business: unless I consider something new or someone comes up with a very compelling argument, I am going to thank Nesoun for his work but NOT move forward with him. That means I am back to square one with finding artists and I'm not sure what to do with this commissioned piece. Advertising, I guess.
The coming update will cover a period of several months of in-world time. I'm not going to implement any kind of time system, it will all just occur in nebulous game time. Though it wouldn't make sense for the characters to actually resolve things in the order that players likely will, I think this will be more fun to play for this segment. So if you can accept the sliding time scale, you'll be able to go about and do all the things with little concern for missing others.
I don't want to lose precious momentum and today has enough distractions, so I think I'll keep this short. See you next week!

This. Yes to this. VH does indeed do very well with its simple animations over paid art. Also sound is definitely a thing. There are some really good VA's. If you're ever thinking about using VA's for the sex scenes I can point you to at least one who has a great voice, and she probably knows more.

2016-07-04 11:09:19 +0000 UTCYou know .. I don't know what everyone else's opinion is on this. But rather than go the full CG art route. How about taking the same route as games like Violated Heroine, Fairy Succubus and the Abyss or even something like Eroico or Monsters'N'Girls where rather than Full CG you get a few CG of the girl naked and couple it with some high quality sprite art and some sexy sfx. It's not as good as having full cg visual wise. But it provides a visual centre for a scene and the animation and sound effects would probably complement things more anyway. It also might be a lot easier and cheaper to find a talented sprite artist. I'm not saying go full vh with the tiny rpg maker sprites. But stuff like Eroico can be pretty sexy when it wants to be. It's also quite easy to re use animations. or morph certain animations for different characters. Sometimes low res is an advantage :) You seem to have a few sprite anims in the game anyway for the rest areas. So why not couple them with the sexy dialogue. Would give the excuse to put some sfx in too. And sound is a lot more important than people give it credit for. Little moans and sex sounds do a lot.

2016-06-30 21:25:09 +0000 UTCAll I can say is that quality costs money. It sucks, but it's the law of business. Maybe keep the Patreon for TLS going for funding for images of quality from an expensive artist once the game is complete? Funding would obviously be voluntary only. Then you could simply have another Patreon for whatever game you would be working on in the meantime.

2016-06-30 09:37:06 +0000 UTCIt didn't make it into my last post or the edit but I agree with you Sierra and ZDreamer about Nesoun. As good as his art *could* be, the communication issues and the fact that you weren't going to be getting his best really made it a bad deal. Hopefully some of the other artists will turn out better.

2016-06-27 03:40:31 +0000 UTCNo kidding. I have spent a ton of time searching and the previous post was the best I'd found so far. -_-

2016-06-27 00:49:50 +0000 UTCThanks for the suggestion, but Sleepymaid is both working on Cypress's next project and not quite what I'm going for in terms of art.

2016-06-27 00:49:21 +0000 UTCI feel relieved that things are getting better. I am also glad that you will not work with Nesoun. On the other hand it's kind of sad, because you probably liked his art (since you started working with him) and it looks like finding good, reliable artist with affordable prices is VERY difficult.

2016-06-26 19:51:39 +0000 UTCYay for you feeling better! :D Also yay for much progress on 0.19.0. Don't push yourself too much though, as much fun as it'd be to play around with the aftermath, don't want it to come at your expense.

2016-06-26 18:44:23 +0000 UTCI'm glad you had a triumphant week. I do have one suggestion, though. I read that the author of Overwhored finished his game. That means whoever did the art for it may be available and interested. Now, I tried Overwhored when it first came out, before there was any art for it. It wasn't really my thing, so I can't say whether the art is any good, but it is an option to consider. If others here have played the game and would be willing share their opinions, it may help.
