Kind of busy now, so patrons should expect a more general update on Sunday. See you then!

I'm guessing you you were unable to disable the teleport. Had the same problem until i figured it out. To disable it try checking every wall panel near the crystal and magic circle. Also it is possible to get everything in there you just have to be quick.

2016-07-08 15:48:21 +0000 UTCIt's just me or the Arcanes in the Hidden Stronghold are unbeatable? Whatever I do it's game over. :(

2016-06-11 06:43:18 +0000 UTCI'm not asking for Sierra to take the time to show the 'under the hood' stuff. Sure, Orcent will have the army numbers, but I've seen indications of background meters that indicate general results, and was hoping that someone more knowledgable than I would have put up something about those on the wiki by now. Maybe they have and I just don't see it. Either way, it isn't a priority just one of those that that would be nice to check out.

2016-06-07 09:22:48 +0000 UTCI can see both sides here, there are story based hints as to what will work and when as I've said before, but Zyrus also has a point that in battle and war, numbers and logistics are king and so having those would also add to the realism or help the player make more informed choices. The flipside is that is a very large amount of math on top of Sierra's already large work list. And to be fair, the way Sierra has it set up now is also realistic in the sense that wars are chaotic, messy and rarely on the dot in terms of intelligence, it's always much easier to count the butcher's bill than the herd on the move as it were.

2016-06-07 06:10:15 +0000 UTCText is not the same as hard numbers. Those of us who like to weigh the trade offs with the actual math involved need stuff like Orcents army/quality indicator. I realize it's a lot of numbers though, so I can wait and I have a few saves just before the invasion.

2016-06-07 04:08:18 +0000 UTCSeeing some difference when you load and pick some other choices, you just need to read the texts. They give much information. Though some summary might be cool, if you wanted to start over from the beginning and optimize for the end result. :D

2016-06-07 03:58:16 +0000 UTCI'd love to see a breakdown of stats that affect the invasions outcome eventually... I'm actually surprised the wiki doesn't have something rough for it yet.

2016-06-06 06:07:18 +0000 UTCYeah, I meant if we hire them before Reunion. I more or less know what happen with them if we hire them post-Reunion since House Rose dialog is significantly different (provided we sent Ari-Garda to protect them) and you did sent Iron Cudgel to guard one of the passes in order to get them away from battle. As for them not being suitable for tasks during aftermath... is that because we want to hide our connection to them? Because I can't see a reason why they wouldn't be suitable to protect House Rose...

2016-06-05 20:43:25 +0000 UTCThey also help defend Janine during the coup, though their role isn't as dramatic as the Dusty Horde. You do get bonuses for their presence, though, potentially tipping certain outcomes. They're not suited for the tasks during the aftermath, but they'll play at least a small role next update. (I'm assuming you mean hired them originally. If hiring them later, the Iron Cudgel mostly sits out the battle and the Ari-Garda defends House Rose, saving you troops later.)

2016-06-05 19:50:07 +0000 UTCI'm curious about one thing... what happened to Mercenary companies in case we hired them? We know what happen to Dusty Horde if we hire them, but what about Ari-Garda and Iron Cudgel? Post invasion when we get to assign various troops to different tasks if we choose "humans" we sent Royal Guard to handle the issue. Mercenary companies in our employ are not mentioned one way or another. Why don't we get a choice between Royal Guard and Mercenaries?

2016-06-05 19:28:34 +0000 UTCI sent an orc party to assist House Jade, because well, House Jade...

2016-06-05 01:46:04 +0000 UTCNOM NOM NOM !!! I really liked the outcome I achieved with all the decisions so far. The depths of choices is just unriviled!

2016-06-05 01:34:05 +0000 UTCGlad you appreciated that - I tried hard to make this segment reflect your choices!

2016-06-04 22:33:48 +0000 UTCAh, ha! My second run through the Impaler showed upl for the fun. I'm glad I was hoping that would happen if I spared him. Also woot, my second run through I defeated the Unperson vote, stopped the Orc extermination, and finally got access to the war vaults. You can really see the difference with the decision tree choices. TY Sierra.

2016-06-04 22:00:54 +0000 UTCThank you, sounds like a lot of this is stuff I'd have to use debug to figure out and I have no idea how that code works. Appreciate the patience.

2016-06-04 03:19:55 +0000 UTCMost times you send a party member to do something this update, their results are determined by affection. And yes, tasks sending party members won't use your armies. The exact mechanics vary a little, but I'm sure the wiki people will get into that in detail before too long.
Sierra Lee
2016-06-04 03:16:07 +0000 UTCGotcha, and I take it Yarra's option of sending the Succubi into the slums is tied to her affection and is a reward/help in preventing those armies from being overextended?
Argenten
2016-06-04 03:04:39 +0000 UTCRegarding orcs/humans: it matters for some choices, but mostly it doesn't. The important part of that section is not to use either army too much or they'll be overextended.
Sierra Lee
2016-06-04 03:03:29 +0000 UTCI did a completely new playthrough of the battle to enjoy all the little touches like the expanded conversations here and there like the ambush and at the hidden palace. I thought the latter was a nice touch and cemented the Lady Entila as someone self-serving but also genuinely trying to help her nation. Think I got the best combo I could with "Civilians were kept safe but paid heavy price." "For the losses we took, they were surprisingly light." and "We weren't much worse than a human army" after the battle. Liked the touch about Orcent having to fight for control of the orcs in the city if they were sent. Keeps player invested in their choices but also limits the pathways of those choices if that makes any sense. Curious about the human/orc choices in the petitions section. Going strictly by race, I imagine the orcs are the more chaotic method of dealing with a problem and humans the more organized?
Argenten
2016-06-04 02:48:21 +0000 UTCThe options you're given at that scene depend on the circumstances of the battle: you can influence the shape of the armies a little, but only one "step" - so some outcomes may not be attainable for any given save. But in this case, I suspect the difference is that in earlier versions I had a minor bug - a condition that was supposed to group the enemies scattered them. Playing your save with the corrected calculation will produce a different set of choices.
Sierra Lee
2016-06-04 02:33:14 +0000 UTCAh, dang, I know what I did. Anyway, this is a purely cosmetic error, so I'll get it fixed eventually.
Sierra Lee
2016-06-04 02:30:24 +0000 UTCSpeaking of Yarra's ambush, I cracked up and *hard* at Yarra's "NOM NOM NOM!" battlecry along with the 'scary face' bust, oh gods that was a riot. Liked the increase and placement of saves, really helped maximize player ability to tweak battle decisions for max effect. In the battle decisions, the choice of being able to bunch up the enemy armies was removed. Is that due to bug or due to previous decisions already herding the enemy forces closer together?
Argenten
2016-06-04 02:12:34 +0000 UTCAfter Yarra's ambush, her sprite replaces Hilstara's at the command center. The sprites are correct when the Doom King returns after the start of the coup.
