April 18 Update

Okay, busy times! Wanted to catch you guys up on what I've been up to and what you can expect in version 0.8.0 of the game: - A new chapter of content, of course. - A bunch of new sex scenes. The ongoing pattern will probably be fewer during the action sequences, more when the characters reach a home base area. - Introduction of the full economics system. If you thought the 50,000 Sx goal was just an arbitrary requirement, you'll be pleasantly surprised. - Updated graphics, including some major character upgrades. In the $10 thread we've been evaluating a variety of options and I'll have a preview for everyone once the art is done. - Lots of minor improvements. Really trying to take the game up a notch. - Next version I'll be officially rebranding the project. I also want to try some more serious promotion, see how well this project can do. I'm not sure about exact timing, but don't expect the next version to be really late or anything. There have been some sleepless nights, but I'm having a blast and making great progress.

Yeah, I'll run it past you guys once I get to it. Which I suppose isn't all that far in the future any longer.

Ah, I see. Well, that is good to be considering too. Perhaps once you've got a spiel drafted you could share it with your patrons and maybe ask them if you've missed anything that they liked? And yeah, notification emails seem spotty. One can see the latest replies to the OP of a thread while scrolling down the activity feed, but not the latest replies to those replies and so on. We could have a 20-reply discussion in an old thread and you'd never know~

Hey, sorry I didn't see this before now - I didn't get a notification email for some reason. By promotion I do mean advertising and spreading the word. It's just that these days I'm heavily in creation mode, so the angle I was considering was, "What aspects of the game would lead to promotion being the most successful?" My experience suggests that custom art is far and away the element that attracts attention, but it's also the most expensive. As for actual promotion, I suck at it. I'm going to bite the bullet and force myself to talk up my own project, make a new pitch emphasizing the game's strengths. I also plan to marshal all the art resources I have and display them so that the pitch is flashier. Once that's done, the only real promotion plans I have are to show up in forums likely to be interested and make threads.

I thought the goal had been 50,000 Pron :P but other than that, sounds like you have been a truly busy little bunny. looking forward to ever more hot and wild sex scenes, the placement makes sense and really gives the sense that Simon is in total control of when it happens.

I think I've misunderstood what you meant by promotion. Did you not mean advertisement / spreading the word?

While a few sections of the plot won't lend themselves to much sex, I can promise the average will be much higher than one per update. That's counting before all the affection and threesome scenes get implemented. ^^ I do have a new shop script implemented but it won't necessarily fix all complaints. I tried, anyway. Thinking along the lines of promotion? The next version will definitely be my effort at putting the project's best foot forward. It's hard to know what works best for this (other than all custom CGs for everything, which is a bit beyond my budget).

More sex scenes will be nice. It's fine to have just one occasionally as the last update did, but I'd not like to see that be a trend, especially as we gather more girls to keep happy. Art upgrades and minor gamewide improvements? *crosses fingers for new shop script* That does sound like the version to start promoting. Certainly I've held off recommending the game to a few people and places for the sake of better first impressions. I'm curious what you're thinking along these lines.

Really hope you like the next chapter. You'll get your economic fix, at least. ^^ Minor improvement suggestions are always welcome! In this case, I have a bias against world maps, but fortunately I already got a custom cursor for these screens. Should make everyone happy.

Can't wait. It feels like the game is about to really open up now that they've reached a major city with so many powerful people around. I'm actually looking forward to the economics parts more than you'd expect. In all the times I've slain dragons, fought monsters, and saved the world, not once has a video game protagonist approached the problem in such a sensible, and downright cynical, method as Simon. If you want to stop the evil overlord, don't go crawling through caves and forests looking for shiney trinkets; build an economic base in order to co-opt the local political institutions, and bring the full might of an entire nation down upon him. I'm definitely looking forward to the potential economy-building and political maneuvering. One minor improvement I'd like to recommend is how Simon moves on the world map(so far just around Steinfeld). Instead of him facing one direction and just gliding around, could you make it so that his sprite turns in the appropriate direction just like in cities?
