Eventually, Samwise Gamgee, Gimli, and Legolas made the journey to the Undying Lands as well.

Avi Gossai

The place where Frodo, Bilbo, Lord Eldron, and Gandalf are going to is called "The Undying Lands" Which is a realm inhabited by Ainur and Eldar. The area included the continent of Aman and the island of Tol Eressëa. The ocean Belegaer separated the Undying Lands from the western shores of Middle-earth. Only immortals and ring-bearers were allowed to live in this realm. Bearing the ring for as long as Bilbo and Frodo had takes its toll. They both showed more resilience to the rings temptations than every other race in Middle-Earth, and Frodo never healed properly after the attack by the ring wraiths on "Weathertop". Frodo feels the blade and its pain all the time. So going to the "Undying Lands" will relieve him of the burden the ring caused him and the pain of the blade.

Great watch! Really enjoyed it! I was always under the impression that Frodo left for the undying lands because of the wound he received from the witch king in the first movie. He never fully healed from it despite the elves saving him from dying. Because of that he could never truly go back to the shire and live a peaceful life. Another theory i have is that the return on the king really marks the end of the age where the rings held power. As the power of all the magical rings diminished from the destruction of the master ring it was just time for all those who had owned rings of power in middle earth (Frodo, bilbo, the elves, gandalph all held rings of power) to leave middle earth and leave the world to the new age.

Actually I’m wrong. Because the elves from Rivendell were all slaughtered at Helm’s Deep.

Do you two seriously think that while Minas Tirith and Rohan were fighting on one front, Sauron wasn't making war on EVERYONE ELSE? Do you seriously think that Elves, Dwarves and Men from all over Middle Earth were not busting their asses fighting Orcs in their own lands?? Because I assure you, THEY WERE.

Smeagol and Deagol, who were cousins btw, would never have recognised the Ring. It hadn't been seen by anyone for 2,500 years. Plus they did not live in the Shire.
