One iteration ago, you had it for which 3 stories getting updated in the order by percentage, then changed it to an individual can update two or three times in a row before removal to give others a chance. Given that there's still a high number that are still struggling, can I suggest this combination: Update based on the percentages again, the three stories with the highest percentages in that order, and make a note of which one's updated in that batch. Then for the next poll, remind which one's got updated. If one in the previous batch is selected again (in a row), it counts for that individual story's update count and is removed from the poll until all others are updated. For example, this one would be hero, cooking, then huntsman. If any of these three were selected in the next poll, they're out for a turn or untill the reset when all stories get their chapter. This way, you don't need to poll as often for the small fics, we know what order they're in, and it gives the smaller ones a better chance as we begin to see the bigger fish be eliminated.
