Yellow

This month I've chosen colors. I generally prefer the black and white kind of mood, especially when there's a lot of blacks. I've learnt to see the world in shades of grey with photography, and I find it very fascinating. Everything gets mysterious, but at the same time all subjects seem to reveal their secrets, secrets hidden by the chaos of the other colors. If I had to choose between shooting only one way all my life, I'd surely go for the b&w. By the way, I know most people prefer colorful pictures - probably cause they're easier to decipher - so I tend to play with the whole rainbow too, and share with you the colors of my life. 

Which colors attract us tell a lot about how we feel and which parts of our personality are ruling our current season. Said that, I find curious how the 3 dominant colors of my last 3 sets, are the colors of the Colombian flag: yellow (3rd set), blue (2nd set) and red (1st set). As some of you might know, I was raised by a half-italian and half-colombian family for several years. This month Colombia faced a bad humanitarian crisis, that affected me closely. Obviously that color selection was subconscious and not at all planned. Crazy huh? 

Hope you like the set even if I hate half of it cause that light was booooring as fuck.

Questo mese ho scelto i colori. In generale preferisco di gran lunga lo stile del bianco e nero, soprattutto se c'e molto nero. Diciamo che dopo aver imparato a vedere il mondo a sfumature di grigio (grazie alla fotografia), e dopo averne colto il fascino, per me è facile scegliere: se dovessi fotografare in un solo modo per tutta la vita, rinuncerei ai colori senza pensarci due volte. In bianco e nero, ogni cosa appare misteriosa, ma allo stesso tempo sembra rivelare i suoi segreti, segreti che i colori nascondevano. Ad ogni modo, ho presto compreso che le persone tendono a preferire immagini a colori - forse perché di più facile lettura - quindi cerco di adeguarmi. A voi mostro i colori della mia vita.

I colori che ci attraggono parlano molto di noi, o nello specifico di quelle sfumature della nostra personalità che governano la nostra stagione attuale. Detto ciò, trovo davvero curioso che i tre colori predominanti dei miei ultimi tre set, siano anche i colori della bandiera della Colombia: giallo (terzo set), blu (secondo set) e rosso (primo set). Qualcuno di voi saprà che sono cresciuta per anni in una famiglia italo-colombiana; inoltre proprio questo mese la Colombia ha subito una pesantissima crisi umanitaria, che mi ha profondamente toccata. Ovviamente questa selezione di colori è stata inconscia e non pianificata da me. Folle eh?

Spero vi piaccia questo set, anche se a me metà delle foto fanno schifo perché c'era una luce mortalmente noiosa.
