September Development Update

Hey folks,

Hope you're having a good summer! I'm writing this while recovering off the tail end of a cold myself, but the long weekend has been a good time to buckle down and get some VN work done (including this post).

So! Let's get right to it.

Chapter 4 is progressing pretty well, a good portion of the actual implementation is done but of course as ever development generally moves at the pace of asset completion. One set of CGs is already finished and a few more are in development along with some somewhat unique sprites that I'm very excited to get in front of y'all. Things should at least be in a solid enough sketch phase within the next two weeks or so for Disc tier patron previews, and I'm hoping to have the full build launched before the end of September.

We're also about due for another Behind The Scenes article, which will be launching this week- this time, it'll be about the design of Amir and how it changed over the course of development.

Looking further ahead, there's some exciting stuff on the horizon. We've generally managed a 2 month turnaround on builds so far with a goal of 2-3 months. Chapter 5, however, will be the most ambitious build we've launched so far so we're just going to commit to 3 months. Of course, besides 3 months giving the artists more time to get the visuals done, it'll also help to spread costs out a bit more; at present, the Patreon only covers a relatively small fraction of the cost of art creation and losing all of our Itch revenue hasn't exactly helped. If you do choose to support the project on Patreon, please know that it's enormously helpful to getting all of this actually made.

I wish there was better news to share on the payment processor front, but the general precarity of adult projects in the present environment continues. There haven't been any recent concerning moves from Patreon specifically, but we're also active on Subscribestar on the off chance that a change of venue is required.

Last, but not least, we're hoping to do a Q&A on the project Discord this month. Further details will be posted both there and on the Bluesky.

That's about all there is to share for now! Assuming you're in the northern hemisphere, make sure to get out while the weather's still nice.

Until next time,

Faintly
