TODAY, you dear patrons may feast on this giant interview Mothership's lead Sean McCoy.
But honestly, I could have spoken to Sean for twice as long. As you'll be able to learn tomorrow, Mothership does so much that's interesting, and the campaign of it I'm playing has been some of the most fun I've ever had behind a GM screen. I hope this chat whets your appetite!

2026-01-02 20:31:37 +0000 UTCWow, I'm bummed that the dev team removed the rest RP mechanic that seems like a really great idea, I would totally homebrew that into my game it seems like a perfect way to introduce a quieter characterful moment and honestly fits with the genre quite well, I feel like we see scenes like that in horror fiction

2024-08-21 15:31:09 +0000 UTCI read it a while ago now, and even as someone who reads a lot I had trouble to get into Gormenghast. I liked what I was reading but I found difficult to really enjoy my reading as it takes time for the mood of the book to grasp you. Once you're there though (if I remember right it took me a good third of the book), it's a pleasure to follow the characters and the events as they evolve. The two following books are much easier to get into, even if the third is pretty different from the other two

This whole Patreon is terrible for my wallet and my wall of shame (TTRPGs I own and have never played), but I wouldn't have it any other way. You mentioned that you bolted on some relationship mechanics to better flesh out your characters. I would love to see a video or a post that talks about what you added and why you felt it was a good addition to the game.

2024-07-25 19:34:39 +0000 UTCThere is so little challenge in ttrpg interviews. I love, love, love that that's in here. Sean's a smart guy and it made him think! And think in a constructive way: admitting they could do a better job of addressing tech and tonal variance. Also, fuckyeah ttrpgs are cool. I am very sad that I have fabulously creative, broadly open minded friends who just can't get past the D&D of it all. Here's hoping you can shake up the odd person like that. Looking forward to many more of these.

Every day when I get to work, I go to a parking lot full of different equipments, and every single one EVERY SINGLE ONE of them has some issue, something broken, something doesn't work. Oh this one got AC... But it's slow. This one is fast! Doesn't have a horn. This one goes up fast, but goes down slow. This one goes slow both up and down, and on and on and on. They don't fucking care, so it makes perfect sense to me for spaceships owned by companies to have issues and safety hazards.

When you drift of topic but still stay relevant to the listeners and generate a conversation rather than an interogation. And the best stuff came kind of after the interview 😅 I am just guessing what was discussed and cut off (aprubtly) after the second 'goodbye' Quinns, keep making and improving those interviews! 🥰 P.s.: thats what I think is also a big part of the success of the osr, its the meta talk (as Sean mentioned as well)
