Stark with Ryan Michael Kelly

Hi everyone,

Happy February! I can't believe we're here already! I hope you're all doing great.
I've been enjoying some wonderful (if slightly cold) shoots in North Carolina and Georgia for the past two weeks. :)

These images were taken in 2016, by the wonderful NYC-based fashion photographer, Ryan Michael Kelly. I've never shared any images from this shoot. I've never spoken about it publicly but, between 2014-2016, I had a (relatively minor) health issue that caused me to lose a ton of weight. It's always hard for me to see images from this timeframe as I've never been that thin before or since, so it's hard to see them as a good or accurate representation of me. Perhaps it's not a huge difference but it's very noticeable to my eyes. I'm extremely grateful though for the general health I'm blessed to enjoy and for the adventures that my body carried me on over this period so let me take this opportunity to honor some fruits of that era here with you. I think Ryan did a beautiful job with these and it seems a shame to keep them hidden forever!

Here's to all of our bodies and all that they do, each moment of each day, to gift us with life and the ability to experience this beautiful world. :)

Thank you for your kind words, I'm so happy that these images speak to you emotionally. It's always my hope to be as present and honest as possible during a shoot, so this is a lovely thing to hear. Thank you! :)

I love this observation! That's so true. Thank you so much for sharing. :)

This is a very beautiful series of images. One of the amazing things about photographing humans is that you end up seeing a life in all the ups and downs.

I concur with earlier comments. This is a wonderful set with a terrific work done by Ryan and yourself. All together and knowing the story behind it does give a shaking deep emotion with what your eyes seem to silently scream in some of these shots. It goes right in the heart ! Great thanks for sharing these, hugely appreciated. You've gone beyond, take care.
