Fragment with Cam Mackie

Hi everyone,

I hope you're all having a lovely weekend! I've had a very busy couple of weeks since I got home from the East Coast, both with settling back in from that, and preparing for my next trip, which I leave for in just 2 days! This will be another long one (3-4 weeks), featuring mostly the San Francisco area and the Pacific Northwest... So excited! After that, I'll be sticking to shorter trips for the remainder of the year and look forward to having more time to focus on home stuff. I have 2 old film cameras (35mm and 6x6) that I'd really love to (re)familiarize myself with once I'm spending more time here, and perhaps find a way to use them for self portraits. I feel myself craving analog lately in terms of my own photography but general busyness has caused me to put off tackling the necessary learning curve. Most of the film I have is VERY expired, which can be cool, but maybe not while I'm getting started as it would be nice to know which mess-ups are me and which are the film, hehe. Anyway, this is a long-winded way of me saying that this is something I hope to be able to share with you in the near future. :) It's something I've wanted to try for ages, so I'm saying it aloud (writing aloud?) as a way of holding myself accountable!

I can't say how much I appreciate you being here as it inspires me to want to create more and to push past the distractions and procrastinations that can sometimes get in the way. Thank you.

Here are some images from 2014, by Cam Mackie, while I was living in Australia.
I was staying with a friend in Sydney at the time these were taken, waiting for the results of my visa petition to live and work in the U.S. to come through. It was a lengthy process but a couple of months later I found out I'd been accepted, and I've been here ever since! :)

Thanks Dan! 🤗 I like the idea of it as well and I'm excited to get started. Although, not as excited as I am about seeing you next week!!! 😍

Beautiful pictures! I love the idea of you doing some work on film.
