Hi everyone,
I hope you're all having a lovely weekend. I'm just about at the end of my 3-week tour of the East Coast. It's been full-on but super inspiring! I'm currently in D.C. and head home on Wednesday. :)
This set is not from my current trip but is one I've been looking forward to sharing with you for a while as it captures a day that was very special for my friend Anthony and me last November. We were working in a grassy area surrounded by forest, near San Antonio. As we were working a very friendly deer appeared, perhaps 20 feet from our location, and we stopped for a while to watch her, as she watched us. We spotted a stag some distance behind her and we didn't want to startle either of them with our conversation or movements so we took a break and waited for them to leave... only they didn’t. After a lengthy spell of waiting it became clear that our new friends were there to stay so, we decided to resume shooting. As we did, the stag kept his distance but the deer moved closer and closer until she was only a few feet from where I was sitting! She remained there for the last 30 minutes or so of our session, just grazing and relaxing in the shade. It was so special! The shadows made it difficult to capture how close she really was but I love that she appears in the background of a few images, and all images from this session are just so magical for me personally, knowing that she was close by. My favorite moments are the ones where I feel most connected to nature.
Thank you so very much for your kindness and support in being here. I hope you’ll enjoy these and I look forward to sharing images from my current adventure soon! :)
