Self with Peonies

I hope you're all doing great. :) I've been working in Phoenix for the past week and I'm currently stuck here for an extra two days due to flight cancellations from the winter storm! But, every situation has its opportunities and I'm glad that this one gave me a moment to finish looking through and tweaking these self-portraits I took just before I left. I hope you'll like them!
I've been wanting to try self-portraits for a long time and this is my first attempt in many years. Probably my favorite thing about the creative process is having the opportunity to meaningfully connect with another person so I've struggled a little with the motivation to go it alone. I had these beautiful flowers that I wanted to use before they died (well... died any further) so that gave me the push I needed. I have to say, I enjoyed it more than I thought I would! They're not perfect and there are a few things I'll do differently next time but, overall I am really happy with a few of them. Do you enjoy seeing self-portraits? I'd love to create more in this style to share with you in the future. :)
