The manga version (where each of the 3 open the gate by themselves) makes a lot more sense of the next section. Gon has opened a 2 tonne door all by himself. No wonder he is so strong in Heavens Arena! (And Killua opened 16 tonnes!). (Although the physics of the doors makes no sense. If pushing opens the inner doors, then pushing harder wouldnβt open more doors as thereβs no force acting on them. All it would do is open the inner door faster). In this version though, heβs done it in conjunction with the others, just adding enough strength to tip them over the edge. Thatβs far less power.

2022-03-19 17:49:05 +0000 UTCInterestingly, the Testing Gate scene was actually quite different in the manga: they trained until all three could open the gate by themselves. At the end of their training Gon and Kurapika could open the first gate, but Leorio actually could open the first and second gate by himself. Physically he's much stronger than the other two, but for some reason the anime didn't show this.

2022-03-19 05:27:37 +0000 UTCMy reading of the conversation between Killua's Dad and Mom was less nefarious, and more about his belief that years later Killua would eventually return home to become an assassin once he gets his whims out of his system, because deep down he thinks Killua is more similar to him than he let on when he was talking to Killua. He told him "you and I are different" because that's what a rebellious son who's finding himself wants to hear. Whether he's correct in his assessment or not remains to be seen.
