I'm not gonna lie these queers are hot as fk. A few of them. Especially the sub queen. God damn they are well drawn.

Sanji actually looks pretty good in that makeup. That dress isn't very flattering on him, though. The ruffles and poofy sleeves don't really do it for him.

I've got to agree with you on that one. I really love Bon Clay and the New Kama in general, but Kamabakka Kingdom is pretty uncomfortable. It falls into the stereotype of predatory gay men (or possibly trans women, in this case) who try to force straight men to "turn gay". It doesn't help that their facial features have been caricatured to an extent that some of them look genuinely scary. I know Oda likes to draw characters with exaggerated features and body shapes but I feel like Kamabakka Kingdom is a bit too much. On the bright side, Sanji is basically the only character who has a negative reaction to the okama characters. Everyone else is just totally cool with it. So yeah, I don't think Oda had any bad intentions here, I just wish the Kamabakka situation had been handled differently.

Sanji's story here is really frustrating, because on the one hand the challenging of his masculinity and experiencing what it's like to be objectified is really cool for his character. But also, every single character on Kamabakka Island is a homophobic/transphobic caricature. I don't think Oda has hate in his heart for queer people, especially seeing the pretty positive way he handled Ivankov, Bon Clay, and the New Kama in Impel Down, and some future stuff you haven't seen yet. But the art in the Sanji cover story is definitely a black mark on his queer representation in a lot of peoples' eyes, including mine. It's just rough.

Hey Boom. Although the next 2 or 3 episodes are filler, I would highly suggest you watch them before continuing! They are really great set up for what’s to come. It’s like a flash-back of everything that lead to the current situation. It‘s worth it, to get into the right mood for what’s about to come!

I love Robin's entire sub story. It's so satisfying no matter how many times I see that neck breaking sequence. *chef's kiss*. And then we got our boy Ussop with the comedy at the end. Nice balance.
