They still hold to the 'there can only be one of each fruit' rule, but they way they are named groups them into broad categories based on the general type of animal, and then each individual fruit by the specific animal. Something Something Fruit: Model Whatever. You've already seen the Ox Ox Fruit: Model Bison, and Ox Ox Fruit: Model Giraffe. As well as Dog Dog Fruit: Model Dachshund, and Dog Dog Fruit:model Wolf. Same here they both ate Snake Snake fruits, but different models. King Cobra and Anaconda. As to the sun, yeah that is very much a theme going on with associating Luffy with the Sun, especially a rising sun. I mean the very first arc of the story is Romance Dawn.
