2021-09-07 12:03:58 +0000 UTC"Aokiji" is actually a codename which means Blue Pheasant. The other two Admirals mentioned by Robin also have similar codenames: Akainu is Red Dog, and Kizaru is Yellow Monkey.

2021-09-07 00:33:45 +0000 UTCImportant filler and canon differences for this arc: There were 3 games, the Straw Hats lost the Donut Race, loosing Chopper, they won the Groggy Ring, getting Chopper back, and Luffy won the combat round, taking their flag and drawing them a new one. The new one is beautiful! Much better than their old flag anyway don't you think? On this same island (Long Ring Long Land), not on whatever filler island they were on, they meet Aokiji. He freezes the ocean between the mini islands so that Tonjit could cross the sea and meet up with the rest of his village. His hole-digging grandson and the shipwrecked people who Aokiji saved, are all filler characters.

Also just some really bad translations too. Aokiji's motto is better translated as "Lazy Justice"

As to power level, Aokiji easily eclipses all the Warlords. There are only two character you've met so far who would stand a chance in a one on one with an admiral. And now....... it's time for Water Seven! Strap in everyone, this is gonna get GOOD! And again, someone Fed-Ex express him some tissues, stat!

2021-09-06 16:38:58 +0000 UTCForget anything you "know" about the frog before we see him crawling towards the station – what the anime tells about him will make no sense later. I was so confused before I read the manga... Major manga difference: Aokiji is the one that saves Tonjit on Long Ring Long Island. All other rescue missions (the digger and the guys on the unnamed island) are pure anime additions. In the manga the straw hats are presented especially with shipwrights as reward for winning the final round (there is no mass recruiting event) with Sanji voting for the female one. But Luffy doesn't want any of this guys and claims no one.
