Prototype progress 2

Greetings, my dear patrons! I hope you aren't letting the season's cold get to you. For my part, I have been hard at work, locking myself in my office with a little space-heater cranked to max.

A lot of progress on the prototype has been made this month. Basic combat logic for enemies is in, together with some animation work on that front. Large amounts of code went into the underlying ui systems, making them work on all types of devices. That stuff doesn't make for flashy gifs, but it is crucial to making sure the game can support a significant amount of content without being completely rewritten somewhere down the line. Only IOS exports are left to be tested, which I will do once I find a secondhand Apple phone that doesn't cost me an arm and a leg. I also added a placeholder skill buying system based on Rogschard, and are working on adding in the basic skill archetypes.

Lastly, I have started work on some of the NPCs, they don't have names yet, but I got some of their spritework done. Their portraits will have multiple expressions and clothed/nude states, which was one of the features I got a lot of requests for when working on Rogschard. Next month I hope to complete the character dialogue system, including speech checks and quest updates.

With how long things are taking, leveling probably won't make it in to the first prototype. I am planning to add classes and basic skill trees, but that takes longer then I want to spend on a first version. There is also some neat features I am working on in the background, which were much requested in Rogschard, but I will wait with announcing those until they are closer to completion.
