Beginner Pole Class (part 5): Seats
Added 2023-11-02 12:05:15 +0000 UTCSorry for the trickle-through uploads here: coming to the end of this series now with seats: a static hold that some people find very easy, and others (like me) can take a long time to get the hang of. Don't be discouraged if something seems simple to others but not to you - everyone's journey is different, and we all put points into our pole skill tree in a different order!

There are some 'grip aid' products, which either act like anti-perspirants or add a slight amount of 'tack' to the skin (itac, dry hands, gorilla grip, liquid chalk), depending on whether you have naturally sweaty or naturally dry skin. But with practic, your skin will get better at gripping, as will the muscles behind it. You're right about moisturising products- it's generally recommended to not use them for about 24 hours prior to doing pole (although some products are ok!)

2023-11-02 13:45:47 +0000 UTCThis is likely a stupid question — is there something to rub the skin with to ironically make it “rougher” — ex. for such pole-clinging purposes? You know how almost always skin products are to make skin smoother and silkier? That will not help in this case, will it? I will keep asking these stupid questions. 😆
