1985 Mazda RX7

The first-generation Mazda RX-7 was a two-door, two-seat sports coupe produced from 1978 to 1985. It was the first car to use Mazda's revolutionary rotary engine, which had a unique design that offered several advantages over traditional piston engines.

The RX-7 was designed to be lightweight and nimble, with a sleek and aerodynamic body. Its low weight and compact size made it a joy to drive on winding roads, while its balanced weight distribution and rear-wheel-drive layout provided excellent handling characteristics.

Under the hood, the RX-7 was powered by a 1.1-liter rotary engine that produced around 100 horsepower in its early years, with later models receiving larger engines and more power. The rotary engine was known for its smooth and rev-happy nature, as well as its distinctive exhaust note.

Inside, the first-gen RX-7 featured a driver-focused cockpit with a simple yet elegant layout. The seats were supportive and comfortable, and the driving

position was low and sporty. While the car was small, it provided ample space for two occupants and their luggage.
