Update // Warm Harbor

It’s finally spring, which means our innies can finally become our outies and we may all enjoy an ORTBO in the sun, frolicking like anemic tulips at a waffle party.

(If this intro makes no sense to you, then you’re absolutely sleeping on watching Severance. Seriously, do yourself a favour and thank me later.)

March has had a historical tendency to be my most chaotic month and the one just gone was no exception, though thankfully for more positive reasons than it has been in previous years.

For one, after a year-long hiatus, I got accepted into MCM Comic Con London - which I’ll be at between May 23-25th. For another, I have been enlisted for an extremely exciting NDA project that, as per protocol, I can’t say anything about for the foreseeable future.

While I’m well excited about both of these prospects, this is also going to mean a ton of multitasking and overtime so while I do my best to keep on top of it all, feel free to check in or ask questions if you feel I’ve missed something in the pipeline.

For now, please enjoy the following points equally:

StarStickers

There will be a limited batch of illustrated rewards opening this month, between the 5th and 7th of April.

Please note that Limited means that some rewards won’t be available this round.

Additionally, a reminder that while all rewards will be completed in due time, as of February’s update, rewards for patrons who delete their pledge will be moved to the bottom of the list to be completed once all other rewards are cleared, in order to honor and prioritise patrons continuing their support.

Merchandise

All pending purchases made via StarStickers will be sent as soon as possible. In the meantime, do note that if you need your parcels by a deadline you can let me know via email or DM and I will endeavour to send them faster.

Additionally, the advent of my convention appearance at MCM next month means the Artbook will be back in stock from June, as well as new bookmarks and the limited edition foiled prints, so please look forward to it!

Patreon

The current available slots on limited tiers are:

Also a reminder that all friend referrals come with bonus points for both the joiner and the patron who refers them. What this means is that if someone you know joins on, say, the 10$ tier, you will both get 10+ points on Starstickers on top of that month's regular allocation. Super handy if you’re looking to collect some extra points ahead of the changes coming up!

Subscribing via iOS vs. web

As I mentioned in past updates, Patreon started forcing everyone into a single billing method by November 2024 in order to comply with Apple’s store policy.

While I put this switch on hold until November 2025, this means that anyone wishing to subscribe via the iOS app won’t be able to until then (and even after the switch, you’ll be charged 30% more on account of Apple’s fees).

In the last few months I have not only noticed Patreon forcing more users into using the app to justify this move, but with it, a considerable downturn in the number of pledges. Hence a brief reminder that:

If you wish to support this Patreon at any point, please do so from a web browser. This is not just the only way to support my page at the moment, but even post November 2025, the cheaper option too.

In closing

While I’m pretty sure I’ll end up swinging off my hinges by the end of all these projects, the truth is I haven’t been this motivated and encouraged to work on my craft in a while. In these dark times for creatives, it’s really nice to be reminded that real art still matters and still has a place in this world.

Needless to say, I will also continue to steadily work on rewards and commissions alongside all of that. Time is but a concept that can be bent at will with the power of conviction and 5 energy drinks for breakfast.

Now as to not waste any more of it, have some useful links:

Comments

Yeah, Patreon's policies are definitely in my opinion a case of talking out of both sides of their mouth - they're with creators! ... until a big payment processor / platform (Apple, Visa, etc.) give any pressure, in which case they bend over pretty quick. I mean, I get it, I just wish more companies would fight back against them. In any case, congrats on getting into MCM London!

Exciting things! And yet another reason to begin watching Severance!
