Informations about Zombies update (AGLS v1.4)

Hi everyone,

I’d like to let you know about the upcoming update for the Zombies System. Unfortunately, I’ll need to postpone the release by at least a week—possibly a bit longer. There are several reasons for this:

To create Motion Matching, I used the automatic generation of animations based on trajectories, which is MotoricaAI. Unfortunately, the creators of this program currently do not allow the use of animations generated in this way for commercial purposes. I tried to contact the company to buy the animations, but currently there is no such sale. This means that it will be necessary to remove all animations related to ZombieAI that were created using this tool. In this case, I have 2 solutions to propose:

- Remove the animation and Motion Matching for Zombies. In this case, I will create a very simplified locomotion and if the person is interested in implementing MM, it will be necessary to generate the necessary animation database. For this purpose, I could record a tutorial on how to do it using MotoricaAI (educational purposes only). However, I would like to point out that the process is long.

- The second solution I can propose is that I could make the necessary animations for Motion Matching myself using the Cascadeur program. It has recently had a great function called Inbetween, which allows you to create animations much faster (it is a tool somewhat similar to MotoricaAI, but more simplified). In this case, MM could remain in the project, but the quality of the animation will be much worse than in the films that presented locomotion. This will of course mean that I will need more time to refine the locomotion. Although it is currently difficult for me to estimate how long it will take to create the entire animation database, I think it will take no less than a week.

The second major problem is unfortunately also problems with the computer itself. In short, sometimes I am unable to start Windows, or even after it starts, not all components are correctly detected, including internal drives. For now, I do not know what is causing this, but I hope it is not a problem that could result in data loss. If the problem worsens, it will be necessary to repair it before the update is released, which will cause delays.

I know it’s been a while since anything new appeared on Patreon, but the quality I’m aiming for simply takes time. Thank you for your understanding and for supporting my work :)
