[New Quest: The Siege of Naboo.
Information: The shadow of the Trade Federation looms over Naboo, with their invasion force set to arrive in four months. In the midst of this impending crisis, your primary objective is not to stop the unstoppable but to survive the onslaught by any means necessary. Stealth, strategy, and sometimes sheer willpower will be your tools. Navigate through the chaos, form alliances or fly solo, but remember: the ultimate goal is to live through the invasion.
Objective:
-Survive the Invasion: Utilize cunning, resourcefulness, and strength to ensure your survival until the invasion ends.
-Timer: 4 months.
Rewards: ???, ???, ???, ???, ???.
Failure: Possible Demise.]
I stared at the quest screen floating before me. It hadn’t even been a week since my meeting with Palpatine, and now this. Four months until invasion. It wasn't much time to prepare, but I'd have to make do. The rewards were quite intriguing too, but honestly, was it too much to ask for some time to breathe?
That being said, I wasn’t too concerned, surprisingly.
This at least gave me a general idea of how close to the movies I was.
The Phantom Menace.
Meaning that in four months time, Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon would come to the planet to rescue Padme from the Trade Federation, and from there, they would end up in Tatooine, meeting Anakin Skywalker, the chosen one. This would eventually end with Qui-Gon dying at the hands of Darth Maul, and Obi-Wan taking Anakin as his padawan.
A rather crude summary of the upcoming events, but one that holds true.
It’s a shame Qui-Gon is destined to die.
Most people think that if Qui-Gon hadn’t died, Anakin wouldn’t have turned into the Dark Side, becoming Darth Vader, seeing Qui-Gon saw that the Jedi had lost their way, in more ways than one. Not only that, but there’s a chance he could’ve stopped Dooku from turning into the dark side as well.
Those are just theories though, nothing but what ifs… though I can’t help but wonder if I could change anything with what I knew. If anything to avoid having to deal with Darth Vader and Palpatine. The System hadn’t set any rules against intervening in the events as they unfold.
Heck, the damn thing made emphasis I could do wherever I damn pleased. If I played my cards right, I could use the knowledge I had to tip the scales to a more favorable outcome, maybe even change the fate of this galaxy far, far away.
Then again, things could turn out for the worse if I changed what I knew.
This was quite the paradox. Do something, or do nothing. Fate versus free will, each side carrying equal measures of danger and opportunity.
I sat back in my chair, contemplating my options.
Do nothing? Continue to live through these events as they transpired in the movies, face the challenges and rewards presented by the System, find a way to get by and survive the invasion. That was one option. But it was passive, and I wasn't a fan of standing on the sidelines.
Do something? Step in, make a difference. Affect the narrative I'd seen played out on screen so many times. It was an interesting idea. Tempting, even.
But changing events could have unforeseen consequences. Could making things better in the short term lead to some unforeseen catastrophe down the road?
On one hand, the knowledge I had would provide me with safety, a roadmap of what to expect, a certain predictability that I could work to my advantage. On the other, intervention could bring about unknown variables into play, dangers that I couldn't foresee.
That being said, could I even make a difference? Knowledge alone, on unprepared hands was like a gun without bullets, scary at first, but utterly useless at the end.
I sighed, running a hand through my hair. This was a headache inducing dilemma.
I suppose before making any decisions, I might as well see how to get stronger. So far, I have gotten around by sheer luck, and…. Well, luck, and the more the story progresses the less likely it will be for luck to save my ass.
[New Quest: Do you even train bro?
Information: It appears you have understood the importance of self-improvement. This galaxy will test your abilities to their limits. Will you be ready?
Objective:
-Strengthen Your Skills: Self-training is the key to improvement, so go out and train, and become stronger before the invasion starts! Maybe get a teacher, maybe don’t, just do something!
Rewards: Skill Book x2, +10 to all stats.]
"Do you even train bro?" I muttered under my breath with a smirk. The system really did know how to lighten up a tense moment. But the message was vital and clear. Power was necessary. If I wanted to make any changes, or even just survive, I'd need greater strength than my own.
I had a tool no one else in this universe had, a way to get stronger that many would consider an easy path. It was within my best interest to exploit this tool, before things got out of hand.
Now the question was, how could I get stronger?
Saitama Style?
100 Push-Ups
100 Sit-Ups
100 Squats
10Km Running
…
Meh, why not, not like I have a better option right now.
I just hope I don’t end up becoming bald.
[New Quest: Road to Glory!
Information: Saitama's regime can deliver superhuman strength and speed, but are you up to the challenge? Every day for the next four months, you must complete these tasks. Test your limits, push through pain, and embrace the grind.
Objective:
-Complete Daily Training: 100 push-ups, 100 sit-ups, 100 squats, and a 10km run. Do this daily for four months.
Rewards: +30 STR, +30 AGI, x1 Skill Book.
Failure: ???.]
Wait… what’s the difference between this quest, and the other one. They both basically want me to train… you know what, I won’t question the gift, I’ll just accept the generosity, and move on.
Taking a deep breath, I stood up, stretched my arms over my head, then proceeded with my first set of push-ups.
I had four months to get ready, and there was no better day than today to start.
