This Week in the Forest! #182

YO FOLKS!

Here's what we've been up to this week, Starting with a Word from Vixel!

2/11 update:

Hey floofs, happy new week!!

Last week I improved some Adventures stuff to make it more intuitive, added some developer scripts to make it easier to position cameras for cutscenes and interactive areas, and did some cleanup in our menu systems to prepare for future touchscreen navigation improvements on phones. Also worked with Carrot on more visual effects design for the new rooms coming in Act 4. There's a fair bit of water in some of the rooms, and it's a perfect opportunity for snazzy shimmer effects and reflections!

This week I'll be working on a few remaining Adventure todos and playtesting the Adventures; prototyping a couple menu designs to see how they feel with touchscreen input; and misc todos we need done before the next build. Have a lovely week! <3

On my end, I've been needing to give my hand a break again :( - thumb and pinky have been giving me issues. So I've been kinda taking it easy. That said, I'm also pushing ahead with some side content while the new main content is being prepped :>

Next up, I've got to finish this river/waterfall animation, I swear, I've animated every kind of body of water at this point in this game lmao.

After this is done, I'll have one more big room left! Then that's pretty much it for location assets for Act 4! I've got a couple animations in the works, aaaand then a few systems and what not, and we'll be good to go! I also finished a few sprites, but I'm not showing those ;)

Still probably a good month or two out. Especially considering this is when we might do our credit sequence and stuff...? I dunno, I'll figure that out later.
