Word Bank FAQ + Changes

Since everyone voted yes for it (including myself), I will be add a compounding 10% interest for every tier on every month you are pledged. Note this compounding will occur BEFORE the flat increase of words.

E.g. $25 patron has 0 words in his word bank, the next month comes around. 10% of 0 is 0. So he only gets the promised 500 words for that month.

Meanwhile let say $25 patron had 1000 words in his word bank. Next month comes around, 10% of 1000 is 100 words and he gets 500 words for free. His new total will be 1600 words.

Now this is a good time to answer all of the finer details of the word bank.

Q1) How does the word bank work?

When patrons first sign up to my Patreon, patrons will have a first time bonus of free words and that month's incremental rate. These words can be used to discount commissions from me and you will reduce the price accordingly.

Every month that they are pledged after that, patrons will enjoy a 10% compounding effect of the words and a monthly flat increase of words.

E.g. $6 Patron signs up on May and have the first time bonus of 500 words and gets the May's first month increment of 250 words. Currently his word bank will be at 750 words.

He wants a commissions from me at 1000 words (Total price of $35) and he redeems 250 words for free so the final price will be $26.25 (Paying for 750 words essentially).

When June comes around, he will get the 10% compounding interest of 50 words (10% of 500 words) and the flat 250 words, so he gets a total of 300 words for that month. Which means his final amount is 800 words in his word bank.

Q2) What are the conditions required for me to redeem these words?

You must be an active patron when you redeem it. Any words that you have accumulated when you were a Patreon before leaving will be deleted into 0.

(Probably should add like a month or two months requirement but I'll make that decision when more people join and redeem their words and immediately leave. Not going to lie, this compounding interest is a rather soft way to prevent that. But... I would rather not create rules to ban.)

Q3) How are you keeping track of this?

Fair enough. I coded a website to do just that. Here are just some of the pictures to illustrate this:

On the left column is the patron pledge while the right will have their current word bank. Nobody redeemed anything yet as of yet. The website will automatically update itself and increment after a month of their pledge so no need to worry there :3

Q4) How do I check the number of words in the word bank?

Via dm-ing me on Patreon or on Discord. I'll just send you a snapshot of the user profile which would look something like this:

I'll change the layout when I stop being lazy but this is essentially the details given there. So you could see the price of each word and current words in your word bank.

Q5) Any constraints on this system?

Just a few couple constraints.

• Maximum words that can be stored in the bank is 5000.

• Maximum words to be redeemed is 3000 at one go.

• In a month, I will have a limit of 9K words being redeemed (so I don't hungry over the month cause money yk) If you are claiming it once the threshold have been met, I'll kindly ask you to save it for your next commissions and redeem it next month.

• Compounded words will be rounded to the nearest 100 words.

Q6) How do I redeem it?

When you are asking for a commission, you can just let me know you are redeeming it and I'll deduct it accordingly.

Q7) How many words do I get per tier?

As of now, the word bank will have (including the compounding 10%):

• $3 Patrons will get 500 words first time bonus + 100 per month

• $6 Patrons will get 500 words first time bonus + 250 per month

• $20 Patrons will get 1000 words first time bonus + 250 per month

• $25 Patrons will get 1000 words first time bonus + 500 per month

Do note if you upgrade or downgrade, your words will not change but the increment will change as such. Fortunately, the website can manage that for me so no worries there.
