Thanks for coming guys. You know, I've been running FANBOX for over two years and never once used the word "critical." I don’t throw that word around lightly.
But now, I think it’s time to slap that word on as a title. In short, I’ve decided to change my business strategy. I’ll start spending a lot of time researching AI drawing and related features, and I’ll open a Patreon account dedicated to R18 content. I’ll also start mixing R18G 2D hand-drawn art into my current Fanbox. I won’t be developing KK or its animation-related tech anymore, but I’ll still use KK for videos.
Alright, you already know what’s coming, but let me fill you in on the details. This isn’t some super serious post or me trying to criticize anything. Actually, before I dive in, let me just say this is gonna be some fun stuff. I’m about to lay out how I’m gonna make this a win for everybody.
Basically, I think this issue popping up was still within my expectations. But I can tell you guys without holding back that, in fact, the improvement of technology and the refinement of animations have significantly increased my workload while also greatly reducing my income. I think this needs to be discussed from three angles.
The first thing is that I think I’ve pushed KK to some kind of technical limit in a way. There’s definitely still a lot I could learn about animation techniques, but I feel like this is pretty much a soft cap. So, I think it’s about time to start learning other skills.
The second thing is that the refinement and technical development inevitably led to fewer updates, which has actually cut my income in half. This makes sense because if someone updates once every three months, you’d only subscribe once every three months (thanks to those who don’t unsubscribe every month even when I don’t update). I’ve publicly shared before that my income was around 300,000 yen, and now it’s 150,000. That’s reaching a dangerous threshold. It’s not that I’m making less money and want more, so I’m changing strategies—it’s that if it keeps dropping, I’ll have to switch careers and won’t be able to keep creating.
The third thing is that I once said doing something you love means you’re willing to spend more time on it for less money, and I’d still do it. I still feel that way now. I think New Management was my way of giving thanks to the entire doujin animation scene, the R18G community, the whole Ryona community, and all the fans out there. As a Ryona enthusiast myself, I’m just like you—practically swimming through the internet every day looking for this stuff. I’d bet the creators I know, you know too, and the works you’ve seen, I’ve probably seen most of them as well. I wouldn’t dare say New Management is the best one out there, but I think it deserves more recognition. Yet, if you look at the view count, it’s just barely over 10,000, while some random AI-generated loli porn can easily surpass that. So, even though I wanted to contribute to art, I think I picked the wrong approach.
So, honestly, my bad decisions led me to screw up three things at once. First, as tech got better and quality went up, I didn’t make more money—instead, my workload just ballooned. Second, my subscribers they’re not exactly on board with it. I mean, logically, if they were on board, I’d have more subscribers, not half of what I used to have. Third, the art isn’t getting out there. Only ten thousand people are seeing this stuff. It’s a lose-lose for everyone. I messed up everything.
Well, that’s kind of an impressive feat in its own way. You spent more money, didn’t earn any extra, and your audience isn’t any happier than before. I thought only Disney pulled off stuff like that.
btw, in my highest subscription month, I made 340,000 yen, and that was during the production of Lucky Day.
And the production quality of Lucky Day is nothing compared to my recent work. It’s just that during that time, my output was high enough.
Honestly, if you look in the right places, you’ll see I’m basically pirating my own stuff. The only video I haven’t made free to the public so far is "New Management"—everything else is out there. That should show you how committed I am to sharing my art.
So what are you gonna do? are you quit? I hear you asking, and man, you’re asking the right guy.
My way of operating isn’t actually making anyone happy.
That’s a problem I’ve realized, and I think it needs to be fixed.
I’ve told you guys the reasons, so now let’s talk about what I think should be done.
The truth is, I think the AI technology I have in my hands is pretty solid. With about another month of fine-tuning, it’ll be ready to go. I’ll start posting mainstream R18 AI art directly on Patreon to charge most people. Plus, another technology I’m currently working on can drastically cut down on the tedious parts of drawing. I don’t know how many of you know this, but I can actually draw. Patreon bans R18G, and Fanbox bans AI art, so this is actually a good idea.
My subscribers can see a ton of KK Ryona animations, and my animation updates can be super fast since I’ll stop researching new tech and making long films. On top of that, I’ll start creating hand-drawn Ryona comics or illustrations to break through KK’s technical limits and make the content I’ve always wanted, contributing to art. Then, I’ll have a Patreon account specifically for uploading a bunch of R18 pure-love, mainstream-style art to keep my creative work going, so everyone wins.
I was already planing to make a game by 2030. If my plan works, I’ll get more income and time to finish that game. Otherwise, with my current situation—poor and busy—it’ll definitely push me further away from my goal. Okay, that’s basically all of it.
I’ve already told you how this happened, what I’m thinking, and how I’m going to handle it. If you have any thoughts or questions, I’d be happy to answer them.
Okay that's talk about something else hmm? Let me tell you what’s on my mind.
If this sounds pessimistic, like “I’m out of options,” I actually don’t think it is. Quite the opposite.
I think I currently have a solid grasp of KK technology. I can create high-quality work in a short amount of time as long as the animations aren’t too long or stuffed with too much content—they’ll still be great. Then I can start spending time diving into new tools or techniques. This is absolutely a good thing.
Everyone can regularly have animations to watch because I’m stopping development, and then I’ll shift to researching other techniques to one day bring even better work to everyone. I think this is a way for everyone to win.
Let’s say I release an animation like Level 6 every week. I’d need to spend less than six hours a week on animation production, maxing out at eight hours. Then everyone gets four animations a month to watch. In reality, I’d be working less time, and people’s willingness to subscribe would shoot up because there’s new stuff to see every week.
The result is that I spend less time and end up making more money
Uh, Level 6 is totally a trash animation, but it’s effective—kind of like The End of the Adventure
When I say trash, I don’t mean it’s bad or terrible—actually, the opposite. They’re super useful. If you just want to get off in the shortest time possible, they’re the most effective type.
You know, based on the data I have, the top three most popular works are The End of the Adventure, Picnic 01, and Stream Sniping. If you ask me about the production difficulty of these three, assuming difficulty is ranked from 1 to 6, it’d probably be 1, 3, 3.
So I’m gonna make a bunch of scammy AI porn pics to sell on Patreon, then churn out a ton of super trashy short videos on FANBOX, constantly updating to keep people hooked. After that, I’ll move on to the next field I want to break into.
It’s not real estate or stocks. I’m either gonna take this tech and money to start an animation company or crank out a bunch of R18G games. Either way, I’m circling back to R18G—it’s where I was born, it’s where I belong. For now, though, I’m probably gonna use a ton of AI-generated art to rake in some cash. I mean, there’s definitely a crowd out there who wants a flood of spicy stuff to satisfy their daily cravings, right?
I get the time and money to experiment with new stuff, you guys get more videos, and the folks on Patreon hunting for AI-generated spicy art get their fix. Everybody wins.
When you clicked on this post, you might’ve thought I was about to drop some heavy, serious stuff or whatever. Nope. I’m here to tell you I’m making sure everyone wins—everyone gets what they want. #WorldPeace
Alright, you might be wondering—am I still making videos and KK scenes? The answer is yes, and there’ll be even more than before. You probably won’t see videos with more than two shots, though. But trust me, you’re still gonna want to watch this stuff—because I sure do. My current wallpaper is Level 6. I uploaded an uncensored version of Level 6 to Wallpaper Engine and set it as my background. Imagine firing up your computer every day and seeing that. Why not? This stuff is practical.
Oh, and about the videos I had planned for this year—I’m still figuring out how to handle them. Probably gonna trim them down, pick the best shot, and turn it into a punchy, spicier short video. Still mulling it over, though. Anyway, if you’ve got any questions, drop them in the comments or swing by my server. I’d be happy to answer.
