This Week At KosoruCG 7/29-8/04

We have a lot of things to talk about. Because I was stuck with a military recruitment training last week and wasted a week, so I couldn't plan these things well in the previous weeks, so let's deal with these things now.


Most of the things in this weekly report are very important, I think, because they are related to my production direction for the entire August, not just the progress of the video. I will try to change the production direction in August and test it to see what will happen.

The first thing is about the cover, I'm not sure how many people have noticed the first thing I'm going to say is that I changed the art style, The shadows I used a while ago were very realistic because I think realism = high quality, Then because of some factors, I wanted to try a more modern animation style, So almost all of August will be in this coloring style. If you compare this cover with past works, you will find that this art style looks more...cartoon.


Then I also announced that my next work will be {Stream sniping 5}, I’ll tell you a story later on why a lot of changes happened in August, and why I changed my original production plan and postponed the Lucky Draw video and {Occupational injuries 04}.


Things probably go back to 7/24. At that time, I was very bored in the military camp, so one thing I did was I started to study the works of other animation creators. I actually didn’t pay much attention to what others were doing, so Actually I don’t know many creators, I usually do my own thing.


Then I discovered a creator who also used KK for animation. His homepage announced a few days ago that he had exceeded 150K followers, and almost all his works had more than 50,000 views. I was very interested in why he was so success, So I went to my technical advisor and asked: "What do you think this guy does better than me?"


My technical consultant's answer to me after looking at his homepage: "I can easily see what this guy does better than you, but I can't think of what you do better than this guy."


When I asked: "What do you think this guy does better than me?" , and the answer I got was: "Every thing", well, he didn’t say that but that’s what he meant, So I started to research what characteristics this creator’s works have.


"Before I start to analyze what happened, I want to state that I am not criticizing any of the creators' practices, and don't ask me who I am talking about, because I am not sure whether my doing this kind of thing has affected other creators"


This is what I found after doing some research:


1: Most of the videos are modified using other creators' SD


This is actually a very efficient approach, because I usually set up the scene myself to make the video I want, but this usually takes me a day, and I'm not sure if this approach is really make the video look better, I think this approach is more efficient, so I should actually try to use more existing resources and make adjustments in the existing SD.


2: R18


I believe no one will doubt that R18 has a larger audience than R18G, And I'm not going to change my preferences, so I'm not going to go make a bunch of R18 stuff, I still like R18G but here we have something to say, I studied all his works with my technical consultant, and we believe that the plot is the most important part of a video. R18's works focus more on the girl's feelings. Her expressions and feelings will directly affect the audience's feelings. If people want to see rape, they want to see the panicked part of the girl, not any part of the body. It's the reactions that make people excited, so you'll use more medium shots to highlight the entire scene rather than close-ups of certain parts.


But R18G is completely different. R18G's art focuses more on observing objects. I have studied most of R18G's works, which focus on how to show these corpses. Even without the appearance of male characters, it can still be a good work. Necrophilia works do not focus on interaction, So in fact, the correct approach for necrophiliac works is to reduce excessive interactions and focus on showing the beauty of girls.


3: The time is compressed into about 50 seconds


This is actually a modern video viewing habit. I don’t know if you have seen on Youtube that “all” videos now have a key clip, and it is placed at the front of the entire video. If you watch a 20 minutes of apex live broadcast, you will see the most intense battle in the first minute of the video, So in fact, even if it is a hentai video, no one can watch it for 2:30 seconds. And the pace of my videos is very slow. If you watch my videos, you may not even see the insertion, other people’s videos have already ejaculated and then ended. I think short videos are a modern viewing habit, but I personally think that for R18G works, a slow pace is necessary. My technical consultant told me that he felt that these touches or the camera moving from head to toe in my videos made him feel boring, but personally I really enjoy the process of moving the perspective, which can show all parts of the girl, so I can only say that this is a part of different preferences, I think a good The method is that I do not make all the videos into 2:30, because this actually consumes a lot of production time, so I decided to divide all the works into "conceptual" R18 and R18G works.


What does it mean? Because I just told you that I have researched the essence of these themes, Rape is a kind of plot, it can skip all the close-ups and just focus on the girl's reaction and everyone will still like it, Necrophilia is a fetish, it should focus on the slow pace and appreciation process, so the video length must be long enough, So in the future you will find that the length of my videos will be longer or shorter. When I judge that this is a "plot", the length of the video will be about 50 seconds, whether it is rape, kidnapping or bondage. When I found out it was a "fetish", the length of the video went back to about 1:30 to 2:30, I once discussed with others whether short videos or long videos are better. I think there is no answer to this question. I said before: "Do both". But in fact, I am a very scientific person. I think you should choose short or long videos. There should be some kind of standard, instead of making short videos because you are tired today, and long videos because you are free today.


4. Modern anime rendering


If you look at {The end of the adventure 02} and {Medical}, you will feel that these are not videos by the same one. I once showed my video to my friends, and one of them responded: "wow....This is not what I thought...This looks so realistic", Regardless of whether realistic is good or bad, I don’t think there is an answer to this question, but obviously everyone’s impression of these characters (Ryza, Serval, Pekora) is very anime style, So when you look for Pekora's videos and see a very realistic style of video, you may reduce your desire to watch it because it doesn't quite match what you originally expected to see. So people might expect to see Genshin's kind of rendering rather than a realistic style.


5. Popular characters


You may have noticed that the way I choose my characters is actually very random. Love Live is a work made several years ago, but I still choose Nico as the character. But If I choose some mobile game characters, I may get several times the views. This is what I think about using popular characters: Popular characters are a good publicity. People will notice you because you use popular characters, but they will not stop following you just because you use popular characters. So in fact, you have no reason not to use popular characters to let more people know you. but the essence of this problem actually comes back to:It's your stuff is not good enough, or it's not enough people know you. If the quality of your work is not good enough, I mean...if you draw an ugly Ganyu no one will want to see it. and if you draw well, but you draw a character that no one knows, then no one will watch it because no one will use this tag. Unless you have a very, very large number of followers, then you can draw anything you want.


I usually only use characters I know, but there are very few characters I know because I rarely watch anime and I don’t play mobile games either. I only sometimes see some hentai pictures on twitter and suddenly want to make some BlueArchive characters, But is it because no one knows me just because I have no publicity, or because my stuff is not good enough? I don't really have an answer for this, but I think I'll probably be using the popular characters more during the August test, I'm not disgusted with this.


In conclusion:

I think I'll be testing the new direction in August, using Genshin Impact-like rendering, Differentiate between which videos are plot and which are fetish, and then give them the correct length of time, And use more existing resources to speed up my work, and choose to use more popular characters, unless it is a sequel to an old series.


Why to do this? I hear you ask. let me tell you my motivation


In fact, there should be very few creators who put this kind of business direction on the table, but I don’t think this is a trade secret. I remember one thing I once said was, "Every decision I make has a reasons." I have talked about a lot of things above to tell you my analysis and why I will make five new production directions in the next month. Now I will tell you why I want to make these changes.


One thing I want to say first is that I think my production method or video style is different from others because I never pay attention to what other people are doing. This thing actually has good and bad aspects. I think Change and progress are necessary. Sometimes you have to refer to what some people do and learn from the best, but sometimes you will lose your original style because of these learnings. This is something I am very careful about.


You can't say: "I have my own style" then you stand still and don't do anything or make any changes. All creatures in the world that do not change will be eliminated, But I also know that when something has a routine, it loses its creativity, So I plan to test this thing in August because this change may be good or not, so I will pay close attention to the impact of these changes. If it is good, we will keep it. If it is bad, we give up.


Actually, my motivation for doing this is to make better works. Anyone who reads my weekly report may know that I make my own pirated videos, so I don’t do it for money, or because I want to be a creator who everyone admires and has a lot of fans. My only motivation for wanting to increase my followers is that, objectively speaking, the more followers you have, the better your content is, and I think that's an indicator of the quality of the video, so I'd like to try to see if I can attract more people. But one very serious thing is that I will still do it the way I want to do it, even if it doesn't make more money. This decision actually requires a lot of courage for me, because changes may disappoint some people, but I don’t want to stop progress or give up any attempts. I hope everyone can believe that I am doing this to make better videos, I will carefully observe the impact of these changes in August, and carefully consider whether these decisions are the right ones.


well, This is actually a pretty serious weekly report, Because actually, as far as I know, there are a lot of things that changed and became terrible, like Halo Infinite, which is a piece of shit, or Dead Space or other things.
