It bothers me when people are media illiterate as well, but that is by no means exclusive to young people. I'm Gen Z and yet I had experience with multiple console generations, went to video stores before they disappeared, had a NOKIA phone before a smart phone, watched cable television, used a VHS player and a hand-me-down "Walkman" before getting an iPod. You name it I'm probably familiar with it, even though I was probably still in diapers when the towers fell. That being said, it's no surprise to me that Gen X is taking aging out hard. Gen X is the epitome of that one kid who has parents that don't give a shit thinking it's the coolest thing ever that they let him excessively drink, do drugs, and have casual sex, because that's what was "cool". All this crap they were raised with was sugar for the pill that the boomers checked out on raising their kids right and leaving generational wealth in favor of timeshares and cruise lines. The hippies and their kids were brainwashed into thinking hedonism and living without being future-conscious was a way to get back at those with power, and now they're all either dead, broke, totally checked out, or actively simping for Trump.

Paul, stop slobbering all over the 80's cock. That Nintendo creepypasta is definitely for the lolz, and the fact that you can't comprehend that shows how pretentious you truly are. Just because your narcissistic ass is Gen X doesn't mean you're the "last" of anything. You are becoming a Todd, the equivalent of a Karen. Just because Gen X didn't have their stupid shit exposed on the internet doesn't mean you aren't autistic like the rest of the "skibidi toilets". I swear Gen X are Boomer reincarnate that act like their shit doesn't stink.

As I am so shall you be comes from medieval Catholicism(it might predate that but if it does I am not aware). Look up the small catscomb decorated with bones and monks corpses it has the phrase on the walls. Very cool looking

Creepy pasta is often like middle schooler/high school early attempts at creative writing. Most of it is crap but I feel like that's normal for that age.
