Mere conscious observance does not influence the quantum state of the system. The observer effect has nothing to do with consciousness; it is a process that occurs due to particles interacting with other particles. In order to measure a particle’s, such as an electron’s, position or momentum, an “observer,” or rather a device, might fire photons at the particle which in turn collapses the wave function of the object. Also, when a particle is in a state of superposition it is not even really in a state, or any form of existence that we currently can describe using the knowledge we currently possess. Superposition is entirely a mathematical construct, and the idea that particles behave like waves of probabilities is simply only one of many interpretations. That said, TJ did sort of make the distinction between “observer” and “conscious observer” in his opinion segment, but I just wanted this clarification to be put out there.

I'm not going to lie, somtimes Pual says some shit I really don't like, but god damn it is it the truth that somtimes he says pretty much the same thing TJ says, but you knuckle dragging fucks are too stupid to understand they are saying the exact same shit in different ways. You people are so petty and need to find other sources of catharsis in your lives

I don't think you understand what Paul is saying. Setting aside the fact that "significant" is a subjective value judgement that we are making from a human standpoint, of course we impact our enivoment in significant ways. No one is denying that. Its just that many different kinds of forces and objects also impact thier enviroment in siginifcant ways, the effects of which can only be so well understood and are hard to judge from our perdpective. Not to mention when you desolve this concept of "self" and so by extention "persons", then well, I guess you have a perspective we can't really use our languge to describe, but you could imagine signifigant change to the universe as being made in near equal measure by a lot of small parts and some of those parts being what makes up what we falsely call a person, but again, we are applying our pattern seeking shit to this. If you ask me, if there is a flaw in what Paul is saying, it is to imply (maybe unintentionally), that some goupings of these things better represents the underlying reality than others. Not just easier to understand, but more acurate, when in reality anything we can come up with is probably very inacurate.

Some gay loser in the youtube comment section said they belive in "I think therefore I am" what a fucking diphit lmao. The sentece obviously supposes the I within itself, thus putting the cart before the horse. The "I think" actually refers to a sensory experince. All you can say is a sensory experince is happening. Supposing you are having the sensory experice is assuming the conclusion. Dumbass normie fuck isn't familar with victorian era arguments and is stucking quoting a dude who thought your soul was in your pineal gland. What a noob

I remember back in the DP days you guys started talking about the Micheal Jackson allegations and TJ decided not to get into it because it was a whole can of worms. He said that it would be worth doing a special episode of DP just to cover the nuances of it. To me it sounds perfect for a classic DFF episode.
Micheal Jackson Allegations = DFF

I think what Paul is sort of missing is that it kind of feels like he’s trying to completely remove the self entirely from his view in a way, when I think it needs to be a balance. At the end of the day, yeah our lives are insignificant in the grand scheme of things, but in the very small time we’re here, humans have impacted the world we occupy in insane ways. Much like how a beaver will build a dam. On some level, the beaver is thinking and making some kind of choice when choosing its actions while building a dam, but in the grand scheme of things, it also doesn’t think of why it’s doing it, it just does. We’re so insignificant that we don’t really matter in the grand scheme of things, but with our short time here, our “choices” can be significant and long lasting to the world around us. We are apart of the great eco system kind of like a cell is for our bodies, but we can either be red blood cells or cancer cells.
Sorry if any of that didn’t make sense, I’m uneducated and stoned as fuck.
