(NEW SONG DEMO) "What To Do"
Added 2021-05-26 16:23:29 +0000 UTCWe are very excited to share this brand new Tea Club song with you all, our Beloved Patrons.
Pat had the structure of this song written on his acoustic 12 string right after our tour in late 2019. When we jammed on it with the band, it seemed to gel right away.
I took sort of a strange approach with writing my acoustic guitar part on the chorus. I wrote it on a midi keyboard, moving the notes around in Logic until it sounded cool. Then I learned how to play it on an actual guitar and recorded that. It was fun experiment, and got me to do some things that I wouldn't have normally done.
(The recording is a home demo and a rough mix, but I think the idea of the song is there.)
Lyrics:
Warming ice of the lake
In the middle, breaking
There you are
Walking out in the sun anyway
Out of reach
But of course I’ll be right behind you
I’ll never walk light enough
To be spared by the rays
There you are
Walking out in the sun anyway
Everybody says he’s beautiful
Everything he touches turns to gold
But all he makes are lead promises
Who knows what to do?
What to do, what to do?
Warming ice of the lake
In the middle, breaking
There you are
Walking out in the sun anyway
Out of reach
But of course I’ll be right behind you
I’ll never walk light enough
To be spared by the rays
There you are
Walking out in the sun anyway
Everybody says he’s beautiful
Everything he touches turns to gold
But all he makes are lead promises
Who knows what to do?
What to do, what to do?
What to do?
What to do, what to do?
Everybody says he’s beautiful
Everything he touches turns to gold
But all he makes are lead promises
Promises
Promises
Promises
And who knows what to do?
What to do?
What to do?
