Discord Access Issue ..
Added 2020-10-08 18:18:46 +0000 UTCA few months back Discord approached all Bot Developers with a change they were making requiring whitelisting for specific access to endpoints they make available. I went through the process, got whitelisted on 1 out of the 2 endpoints, and thought we'd be good.
The deadline rolled around, they went ahead and made the changes yesterday, and lo and behold .. I needed both of them.
How does this impact you?
- IF you already have the bot in your servers, all good. Nothing will change.
- IF you don't have the bot in your server, well .. I'm going through the whitelisting process for that last endpoint.
IF you are a new patron, I am happy to throw you a refund and I am 100% understanding of your frustration.
Please reach out via our support discord, http://discord.couch.bot, if you have any questions or concerns.
UPDATED 10/14/2020
For those that haven't been following the shenanigans in #announcements-on-the-couch - late last week Discord changed access to 2 of their "intents/end points" .. I got approved for one, after explaining my use cases, and well .. come to find out I need both.
I submitted a ticket .. Discord support forwarded me to the devs. Been waiting since Friday for a response - being patient, and eager for support. I've explained all use cases, made my self available to walk through code, etc.
I'm 100% certain as soon as a dev sets eyes on the issue .. I'll get access. Unfortunately, I'm one of MANY people experiencing the same thing. I am continuing to update #announcements-on-the-couch as I get more info.
Whats this mean for you?!
- Users of the bot. All fine.
- New users / users who increase their allowance .. the bot cant join new servers
Ill continue to be transparent - and happy to talk via DM if you need anything.
