Learning Direct Streaming
Added 2022-02-26 04:42:11 +0000 UTCStarted setting up my own streaming server which should allow me to stream directly in the future. The video and audio are great with only a 3-second latency, but the web interface is currently trash. I'm not Twitch (yet).
For those with technical interest I'm using OBS Studio streaming to a Linux server running NGINX with a popular RTMP plugin, and serving the content from there (currently with HLS).
I doubt I'm a vocally entertaining host so it would most likely be just my work and whatever I might be listening to music-wise, suitable as a casual second-screen distraction.
The nice thing is I can do whatever I want on the stream without breaking any rules, and I can't get taken down or banned.
I will build in a user system and chat for some interactivity, but not too crazy. I could send discreet notifications by email or something. Could be fun!
